Albums | The Fur Releases Stunning Single “Forbidden Fruit”
Posted by VMan on February 21, 2022
From the land that gave you Zara Larsson, ABBA and Avicii, now in storms The Fur. With a solid musical background and a flair for crafting epic and energetic dance-pop, The Fur has dropped a slew of stellar singles this past year. Through collaborations with prominent songwriters and vocalists, THE FUR has in no-time become a name on the pop and EDM scene, with Spotify Editorial placement and a host of tastemaker support.
‘Forbidden Fruit’ is The Fur’s third original single release. With tender, entrancing vocals from Julia Ross, this electro-pop bop is about the kind of love that hurts. We’ve all wanted something we couldn’t have, The Fur just gave us a reason to sing about it. Synth stabs pulse throughout the track, sitting on top of the EDM infused beat below. There’s an intricate intertwining of the electronic and the acoustic. Nicklas Thelin’s guitar line melts into the mix effortlessly, creating a funk that fuels the track forward. Julia Ross’ vocals are outstanding on this track. The smooth tones of her tender vocals juxtapose the effervescent energy of the soundscape below perfectly. The song has a powerful oxymoron at its core – whilst the vibe of the music is smooth and pleasant, the lyrics tell a different story.
Albums | Melodic Techno Artist Burko Unveils His Vocals In “Here Before”
Posted by VMan on February 4, 2022
Burko has taken over the SoCal scene by storm with his uniquely dark-yet-melodic style of house and techno. Today, he releases “Here Before” debuting his own sweet falsetto on the track.
Burko tells us: “When I wrote “Here Before” I was in my last bit of grad school, and had a lot of pressure from family to go into a more traditional line of work after graduation. I knew I needed to push myself and the Burko project harder if I was going to move into music full time after graduating, so I decided to do something with this song I had never done before, sing on my own track. Putting nerves aside of letting my singing voice be heard, I wrote these vocals around the theme of “staying the course.” The lyric in the song, “Don’t lose sight of why we’re here” is a reminder to myself not to lose sight of the dream of making music and touring after graduation, instead of a more traditional route. And the title, “Here Before,” refers to the place in my mind I sometimes end up at, when fear of the future sets in and I have to remind myself to stay the course.”
Beginning his production journey only a few years ago, Burko’s music has been picked up and played by many established DJ’s including Kyle Watson, Steve Darko, Wongo, Londonbridge and SNBRN. Key early support from heavy weights allowed for Burko to sail to the forefront of California’s burgeoning underground scene in a very short order. In 2021, Burko headlined the iconic Spin Nightclub, Bang Bang and played the Grand Artique Stage at Insomniac’s Beyond Wonderland Festival.
2022 sees Burko rolling out his debut EP, titled Infrared — a 4-track tour de force highlighting the producer’s unequaled style of “Medieval House” music.

Albums | ÄTNA Drops Glamorous Video for “Trick by Trick”
Posted by VMan on December 8, 2021
ÄTNA carry their new single “Trick By Trick” out into the world – a wide-legged, megalomaniac statement track that leans on the Gucci-Prada-Fendi-flow of contemporary artists with its technoid-dry beat and lascivious lyrics – and yet remains unmistakably ÄTNA, eccentric and sublime despite all the bling. The music video released for “Trick By Trick” also manifests ÄTNA’s musical versatility. Her visual world is another mosaic piece of their multiverse of sound, design, fashion, movement and language, virtuality and weirdness. Check out the stand out visual and track above now!

With multiple releases on Universal Music/Virgin and official remixes for the likes of Topic, Tujamo, A7S and more, LA-based talent Besomorph holds more than 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify under his three aliases, and has undoubtedly won the hearts of many with his unique take on house music. After growing up in Germany, he has successfully made the relocation to LA and has seen his career explode over the last couple of years, becoming the finalist on John Lennon’s Songwriting Competition 2020 with his song “Anxiety” and reaching over 100k subscribers on his YouTube channel.
Now, following acclaimed singles such as “You So Loose” and “Crush,” Besomorph has enlisted Lebanese producer Anthony Keyrouz and singer/songwriter Jon Paul for “Heartbreak Hotel.” Besomorph and Anthony Keyrouz hit it big last year with a number of successful collaborations, among them “Apologize,“ “Death Bed” and “Virus,” so this house heater is bound to become a massive hit as well.
“Heartbreak Hotel” is part of Chapter RED, a phase of Besomorph’s new branding line, defined by dangerous love games, destructive behavior and mental distress, with red symbolizing danger and toxicity. As Besomorph explains: “Heartbreak Hotel is a place we all meet, which is a place of sadness, but only meant for a temporary stay.”
Albums | Nervous Records Reaches 30 Year Milestone, Celebrates With Massive LP
Posted by VMan on October 7, 2021
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve gotten a whiff of electronic label Nervous Records over the years. The imprint has been around for 30 trips around the sun now, with it’s massive catalog of songs having rippled through the public conscienceness to a very deep degree.
Most labels don’t survive 5 years, let alone 30, yet Nervous Records has done it, clearly having generated a working model that stands the test of time.
Celebrating their 30 year milestone, they’ve put together a huge album titled Nervous Records 30 Years. Tapping many of the label mainstays to participate, who have put their efforts in cuts like “You Make Me Feel Mighty Real,” “Treat Me Right,” “Future Groove,” “Feel Like Singing,” all of which can be heard in the LP compilation today.
“I’ve always been one to look at what others are doing (the industry at large) and think, ‘ok, are they doing this specific thing for a reason, or doing it because everyone else is doing the same thing’ and make my decision based on that.”
“In an age where data metrics and analytics reign supreme, I remain steadfast that they should be complementary to your decision and not the sole indicator to make one. So many songs today are written with 15 second hooks in mind for social media, and while there’s nothing wrong with that business model you will always be chasing the wave instead of carving out your own path and identity.
– Nervous Records’ General Manager Andrew Salsano.
Nervous Records isn’t ending it’s era anytime soon, which is great, the electronic music palette simply wouldn’t be the same without them.
