“This song [Play It Cool] is about somebody who is in over their head in a foreign environment. It is easy to want to panic in these situations and freeze up. By taking a breath and playing it cool, you can then adjust to situations or states of mind.” He adds, “Fall is the closing song on my album, and is meant to be somewhat of a redemption. It is about facing your issues head-on, no longer running from them, and coming to the realization that it is okay to go on a different path in life than those around you.”

Floating in with ethereal harmonies and swirling synths, the melody revs up as the Illinois rapper’s signature vigorous delivery takes hold, encompassed by brooding bass and punchy 808’s. Hip-Hop | merry choppins debut is 2 Tracks That Sound Great

Posted by on August 23, 2021

merry choppins (aka Tony Esterly) has been helping other artists create music for years. His production & songwriting credits include work with BTS, SIA, Andra Day, Yo Gotti, KIRBY and Ashe among numerous others. However, as the Covid-19 Pandemic hit and Esterly was spending time away from others, he decided it was the perfect time to take a step back and create music for himself again. The music is an experimental artistic project that blends elements of together Electronic, Pop, Hip-Hop/R&B, Funk, Alternative all into one cohesive sound. The first two songs reminder me a lot of Vacationer. choppins debut is a double single “cloudin / nananana” and it is out now. Keep a tab on the upcoming project and do your research on Tony Esterley’s work that has got him this far.

“This project serves a dual purpose – to have a platform to share my own unique sound as an artist after years of helping others define their sound and also challenge myself to take a couple steps past the norms into the weird zone. I’ve written so many great songs with artists that didn’t necessarily fit their lane. Some of what you’ll hear from merry choppins are songs that started with others but were re-produced and made into my own, while others have been merry choppins from day one” – merry choppins

Posted by on August 21, 2021

Teaming up with Sada Baby and BabyTron for one of his bigger releases to date, emerging rapper TY in the Building returns with an electrifying new release via “Vice Avenue”. The rising Detroit based artist iss on the come up but clearly has something going here. Check out a quote from him on the release below and check out the new collaboration and video above now!

When I first heard the beat, it reminded me of something that would be in grand theft auto Vice city and I loved it. When we were thinking of a name I wasn’t sure what to call it. We thought about “ Jump” or “screenshot” but that seemed too basic. When i made the artwork I wanted it to be GTA inspired because The beat inspired me of the game, and in the game there’s a bunch of strips with clubs on there. So we came up with “Vice Avenue” referencing the game GTA Vice City”

Hip-Hop, Pop | Estonian Up-And-Comer SVNDRA Drops Infectious New Single “Rocketship”

Posted by on August 15, 2021

Growing up in the beautiful forests of Estonia, rising talent SVNDRA has always dreamt of a career as a singer in LA. She made her first steps in the US back when she was 17, recording her earliest demos in a basement in Queens, and later moved to LA for 6 months. As a classically trained dancer and highly motivated artist, SVNDRA’s talents quickly became noticed in the hip hop and dance communities, and led to her starting to professionally co-write songs with artists in 2015, and launching her solo career in 2019.

SVNDRA has worked alongside massively acclaimed acts such as Teyana Taylor, Chris Brown and Ester Dean, and has performed at Machine Gun Kelly’s festival, the “EST FEST ” with Interscope artist Phem. Her original music takes influences from hip-hop, pop and R&B, while her live performances are widely known for their immense level of production and energy with distinct choreography, supporting dancers and singers, and masterfully curated concepts.

Marking her third release this year, SVNDRA has returned with uplifting gem “Rocketship,” an infectious single that might be one of her best releases yet. The song, which will be premiered live at the Tallinn Music Week in Europe in September, follows a catchy structure centered around smooth synth chords, rattling hi-hats and hard-hitting 808s, perfectly juxtaposing the singer’s infectious vocal performance, that emits undeniably good vibes.

“‘Rocketship’ is a song about getting on board with your life and your dreams. Who are you to deny yourself from living the best life you can,” explains the artist, who apparently prefers to “treat music like a puzzle”. Throughout her process, she starts off with one element and takes a playful and loose creative approach, allowing her songs to form naturally. This translates in the listening experience as genuine passion and free-flowing originality, something truly unique within today’s musical landscape.
