OZZIE has categorized this track as “sleep” genre, which I think doesn’t do it justice. Although it’s peaceful, it’s also very well crafted. A haunting, trapped out background showcases Johnny Rain’s vocals to create a mesmerizing track. I think the highlight of the track is about three minutes in, when OZZIE adds even more layers to the vocals. It’s trippy, mellow, beyond ear pleasing, and up for free!

I know, I know… another “Bring the Rain” remix. But! This one really deserves recognition. This remix encompasses three genres all in one song. heRobust starts with a house intro, then switches to beautifully smooth trap at the first drop. After you think you’ve got the hang of the melodic trap, the second drop at 2:15 throws in some grimy dubstep. How he made three genres work so well in one song, I don’t know, but you should listen to it for yourself and you’ll know what I mean! It’s also free to download!
Chill, Trap | Atlantic Connection – Perfect (She from the Hood)

Atlantic Connection calls his music “future soul” and I think that is the perfect way to describe it. This track is seriously chill, and also shows obvious musical talent. It’s a classy blend of R&B, soul, and trap. Although it starts out slow, I thoroughly enjoyed this song all the way to the end. Its mellow, but the vocals and percussion will keep listeners from falling asleep. The entire EP is fantastic and equally as soulful, but this track was my personal favorite. “Push it to the Limit” was a close second. Atlantic Connection’s EP “The Limit” is available on iTunes.

Flaxo made a really unique track here. It switches back and forth from bumpin’ trap to melodic vocal breakdown sections and it comes together impeccably. He did a great job of making sure the vocals got to shine while still making a trap song you could dance to. His flip on the original house anthem is very creative, and lucky for us, out for free!

Electro, Trap | Jaymes Young – What Is Love (Tim Gunter 808 Remix)

Not many times do you get a remix of a remix that is better than the original remix. A tongue twister, yes, but a true statement as well. Tim Gunter, long time FNT favorite, delivers his newest work. Taking a song that had great meaning to him, Tim didn’t try to change the song, rather he accentuated it. Building on that great guitar riff and vocals, Tim adds heavier drums and some synth lines to give the song a more upbeat feeling all the while keeping the same serious tone. Definitely give this one a listen, I’m sure it’ll tickle your fancy.

I am so pleased that I found this new King Henry release today! King Henry put his famous trap beats and synths under Santell’s singing and rapping to create a new masterpiece. The vocals flow smoothly with the beats and it brings life to the track. He writes that there will be more from both of them together and I’m excited to hear it! Dj Snake just dropped this remix of Aluna George’s “You Know You Like It” and it blew me away. It’s different than his signature hard style, and I loved it. It’s hard not to catch yourself bobbing your head to the off beat drums, catchy melody, and Aluna George’s smooth vocals. Unfortunately there is no download, but this remix will surely get your week started off right! Aluna George’s album “Body Work” will be out on Itunes and Amazon on July 29th.
