I apologize for not posting last week as I was moving out for my study abroad so I could not do it, but I am back this week with some great tracks. Above is a video that Gareth Emery was kind enough to give away of his 5 HOUR set at the Warehouse Project in Manchester on December 26th. The video shows just how powerful a trance set can be and how great a live Dj he is seamlessly mixing genres with house and trance, and even sprinkles of dub. In this post are a bunch of selections from the giant Anjunabeats and Enhanced Recordings, which is becoming one of the leaders in uplifting trance.
Ost & Meyer deliver with this track that was featured on Anjunabeats Vol 9. It has everything you expect from Anjunabeats, uplifting synths, scintillating piano riffs and a great trance bass line. The Dan Stone remix of “Scarlet Love” adds a little extra to the original with a sublime synth drop at around 2 minutes and some more bass to the overall song. Get them on BEATPORT.

Boom Jinx & Daniel Kandi deliver on this track with a sensitive melody with a smooth reverbed synth overlay and that signature trance bass and kick line. Get it on BEATPORT.

Tomas Heredia does a great job with this remix with a long build and a smooth violin based break into an uptempo pitched synth drop that you hear so much on Armada. Get it on BEATPORT.

Trance | Trance Tuesday: Trance in 2011

If the above video does not move you, then you need trance in your life. The video shows the healing power of Trance in Beirut, where war has torn apart the city and the country and trance helps them unite and forget the scars of the past. I could not imagine the goosebumps of dropping “Sun & Moon” for that guy, what a lucky man. Mat Zo just gave out a freebee for the holidays that was played on Above & Beyond’s Essential Mix earlier this year. It is a prototype for “Frequency Flyer” and sounds much like it, but also has a few differences. I solid production from the rising trance star.

Shogun delivers once again, with this remix of Dash Berlin’s single “Better Half Of Me”, which also got a fantastic remix from Alex M.O.R.P.H. This one has a harder synth, but keeps the great vocals and is a overall a fantastic remix from Shogun. Get it on BEATPORT.

Rafael Frost on Ferry Corsten’s Flashover Recordings delivers this smash hit that has received massive support from all the big names in the industry. It has a great synth laden build that continues into the build with some heavier bass and a guitar melody over it. If some of you are still hesitant about trance, this will be a good song for you because it is right on the line of trance and progressive house. Get it on BEATPORT.

Above and Beyond recently released another single “Every Little Beat” off of their massive album “Group Therapy” and with it the Myon & Shane 54 remix that was on Anjunabeats Vol 9. Myon & Shane add a little extra to this outstanding song, making it a little heavier, but leaving much of the original in tact. Get it on BEATPORT.

Electro, Trance | Deadmau5 – Xmas Stuff (I Remember Remix)

Just when we thought that not a creature was stirring, not even a mau5, the man himself drops off a slow melodic remix to his hit “I Remember” for Xmas. This isn’t your standard Deadmau5 track, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be just as filthy. Merry Christmas!

Albums, Trance | Breakfast – The Deep End EP Review

Casey Keyworth or “Breakfast” is an American Trance DJ from the Annapolis Maryland, DC area, who is starting to make waves in the trance industry. His tracks have been supported by all the big names, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Above & Beyond and others and has been known as a master remixer as you guys saw with his “From The Earth” remix. He just released his first artist album and it is an excellent album with some of his well-known tracks that have been played for crowds around the world such as “Air Guitar” and “Horizon” as well as new tracks that are bound to be hits.
The CD varies in sound with each song having a different feel. They are all instrumental tracks which is slightly disappointing, but it emphasizes the production quality of the instrumental. These tracks are not the classic 90s trance nor are they new trance 2.0 style but more of a mix and something different that is interesting. I picked out a few of my favorites for you guys to listen to. Get the album on Beatport HERE. He also just put out a free 30 minute 5 song E.P that is absolutely outstanding. It seamlessly goes between the songs and shows the variety of styles Keyworth uses. The extended mixes will be available on Christmas Day. Check Breakfast out on Facebook, Twitter, and his website.

Shogun has been on fire lately and with these productions you will see why. Here are three songs from him, 2 original and 1 remix that show that this American DJ is ready to ascend to the trance elite. The 2 song EP tells a story of a trip to space over great pulsing trance tracks.
