Trance | Matt Lange – Sixty Six (Keyworth Remix)
Posted by Middy on September 14, 2012
The trance scene has been traditionally dominated by guys from Europe, but the talent in the US is growing and being well represented by these gentlemen, LA native Matt Lange & Maryland man, Keyworth, also known as Breakfast. Keyworth gives “Sixty Six” a different feel with more of an ambient, spacey feel to the builds while keeping much of the driving progressive nature of the original, adding pitched chord play to the breaks. This free gem from the two frequent Anjunabeats contributors is not to be overlooked with its entrancing melodies and subtly complex bass lines.
Trance | Armin van Buuren feat. Ana Criado – I’ll Listen
Posted by Spice on September 11, 2012
It’s made the rounds on the weekly trance radio shows, and now Armin van Buuren’s melodic follow-up to 2012 chart-topper “Suddenly Summer” has finally dropped on Armada music, just in time for the bittersweet transition from summer to fall. “I’ll Listen” features soulful vocals from Ana Criado and a cascade of warm, almost cinematic synths that smoothly navigate the listener through subtle crests and peaks. This track is the perfect follow-up to “Suddenly Summer” and — as with so many Armin originals — seamlessly renders an abstract feeling into music. Head to Beatport for the download or pre-order it on UK iTunes as part of Armin’s live compilation from his summer residency at Privilege, Ibiza (set to drop on September 14).
Events, Review, Trance | Ferry Corsten Brings Full On To The US
Posted by Middy on September 8, 2012
The inaugural Full On on this side of the Atlantic capped the first night of the 4th edition of Electric Zoo with a resounding bang. Full On was first started in 2007 back in Ferry Corsten’s home country of the Netherlands and has turned into one of the biggest trance events in the world. The night was full of back-to-back sets and great individual performances.
Roseland Ballroom set the perfect scene for the night, as tired festival goers began streaming in between 11:30 and midnight to catch the tail-end of rising American trance asset Audien, who has been tagged by super trio Above & Beyond as a name to watch. Full On started at 11pm with Audien, which was definitely a small thing I would have changed since Electric Zoo did not end until 11 pm and the inevitable backup of getting tens of thousands of people off of an island caused many people to be very late for Audien’s set. Next year I would advise Made Event to start the afterparties at 11:30, with doors at 11, to give people at Electric Zoo enough time to get down to the afterparty they paid a decent amount of money for.
Once Audien was done getting the crowd going, British DJ/trance-turned-progressive-house producer Michael Woods hit the decks. His style was not totally out of place in the night, though it was different from the overall tenor of the trance theme. His high energy progressive tracks excited the crowd, and he launched salvo after salvo of hard hitting songs from his expansive discography that has seen many stellar additions recently. Michael Woods was joined by Polina who sang the track “Goodbye,” which became a theme of the evening — live vocalists. He was then joined by Ferry Corsten, the man of the evening, for some intriguing back-to-back that combined some of the more progressive tracks in Ferry’s arsenal. With this as a starting point, there was a clear progression in Ferry Corsten’s sound during the night. Continue on to see how the rest of the night went.
Preview, Trance | Arty, Nadia Ali & BT – Must Be The Love (Preview)
Posted by Middy on September 8, 2012
As first premiered by Arty at Beyond Wonderland during one of the ASOT 550 celebrations, two true artists of their craft (BT hand writes the compositions of his tracks) have come together to with the help of the lovely Nadia Ali and her angelic vocals to bring us this long awaited song. “Must Be The Love” captures the unique sound of Arty that simply explodes out of speakers, as well as the subtle, nuanced sound of BT that makes him one of the most detailed and well respected producers out there. The vocals from Nadia Ali are just the icing on the cake. Mark your calendars, this one comes out September 17th. *Updated with Full Album Version*
Trance | Archie – Desire (Club Mix)
Posted by Middy on September 4, 2012
Archie not only makes widely popular progressive tracks, but can also make some quality trance tunes, (he has also dabbled in dubstep and hard style, which wasn’t that great). The young Russian, Mr. T, picks up the pace with this track with a more traditional trance feel to it with a high bpm bass line, quick saws and a long build creating a feverish anticipation of a high powered drop with a growling undercurrent and fast moving melody. Archie does it again with another outstanding production and shows his versatility to make whatever style he so chooses. There seems to be no limit to what he can do.

Not all sets have tracklists and not all were recorded. Click the jump to get right to it.
Dubstep, Progressive House, Trance, Videos | EDM Video Round-Up – August 2012
Posted by Spice on August 24, 2012
It has recently come to my attention that a number of important videos have dropped this month and we’ve done virtually nothing to acknowledge them. Well, it ends tonight. First up we’ve got one of the coolest and most innovative things I think I’ve ever seen — the video for Mat Zo’s “The Sky” — which gives you an insane, beautiful, jaw-dropping, stomach-clenching, how-the-hell-did-they-even-get-this-footage look into BASE jumping. This video is mind blowing from start to finish, and the fact that all of the gorgeously filmed madness is set to Mat Zo’s equally gorgeous showstopper of a track makes the entire situation that much better. If you do one thing on Fresh New Tracks tonight, watch this video. It’s absolutely incredible and you won’t regret it.
Moving on: see what Madeon, Zedd, Skrillex, and the rest of the gang have been up to after the jump… READ ON >>
