By now there’s probably not a single person out there that isn’t familiar with Ariana Grande and Zedds “Break Free”. It was one of those songs that just blows up. Unfortunately you start hearing songs like that everywhere until…R.I.P played to death. While most of these departed tracks slowly fade to the back of the playlist, once in a while one is given a second chance. That is exactly what we are hearing happen here with Kap Slap’s revitalizing edit on the track. This New York City based producer did a lot more than just bringing it back to life though. With a new powerful house beat throughout the song you’re sure to be moving right up until the massive drop Kap Slap added late in the track. With the second iteration of this year’s Coachella coming up and hundreds of shows going on around the country, we’ve got the perfect track by the Philly-based producer, 5 & A Dime, to get your weekend started off on the right foot. 5 & A Dime started out as a mashup DJ, and as his sound has grown and evolved, he’s gone from purely a mashup DJ to an all-around producer with a couple originals to his name. One of his very first originals, “Pipes,” was played by DJ Snake during his massive Ultra set, for thousands to hear. His latest offering, “Wild,” is an electro house banger that will get you going. It seems like ever since “Lean On” was released there has been a steady stream of remixes popping up on Soundcloud, and unfortunately when you remix a track like that you better know what you’re doing. Too often a producer will attempt to put their spin on a really popular song and it falls way to short of the original. Thankfully, we need not worry about that here, because Pusher has got us covered with his flip of “Lean On.” It’s everything you love from the original with just enough of Pusher’s touch to give the track a heavier trap feel without sacrificing any of the chill vibe. Australian duo Carmada’s “Maybe” released on OWSLA got the ultimate remix package, with remixes by Dr. Fresch, TrollPhace & JuJu, Elk Road & SLUMBERJACK, Jesse Slayter, Fred V & Grafix, Getter and Pegboard Nerds, but my favorite off the package is Elk Road’s and Slumberjack’s as they bring the trap in the most subtle way possible, but it bangs, and I’m with it, this goes hard! Peep the remix package and cop that, it’s a must listen!

There’s a million people who have remixed this record. More often than not, the remix sucks and we don’t want to post it. This one though? This one really caught our attention. Clinton Sparks, who’s always one to rock the boat sonically, bucked the big room festival trend for a slowed down chill trap ripper of epic proportions. Diplo’s record label Mad Decent is about to make waves again with the recent release of their new ep “Control“. Featuring the up and coming 21 year old Miami based producer Ricky Remedy, the first track is sure to catch your attention and leave you wanting more. Ricky starts off with “Make Me”, a powerful trap banger boasting “ugh” as almost the only lyric. Don’t worry though, the lack of lyrics is made up for by the pure energy Ricky brings to the table. Once you start listening it’s hard not to get sucked in and soon you’ll be replaying this one.
