2011 saw a unique collaboration between hip hop icon T.I. And vocal powerhouse Christina Aguilera. While the song went slightly under the radar in the pop charts it sported an emotional chorus with a stirring vocal performance from Cristina Aguilera that lends itself quite well towards a melodic bass rework. Enter Collin Mcloughlin and Skrux, who’s synth heavy interpretation of Castle Walls provides a melancholy take on the hip hop focused original. A soaring trance like arp guides the listener through a wave of heavy bass and glitched vocals, making this interpretation of Castle Walls a perfect balance between subtle beauty and overdriven low end.

A couple weeks back I introduced ya’ll to Pa_triot with his remix of Tiesto’s “Take Me,” and this week, he remixed one of my favorite songs of 2013 “Beg Borrow Steal” by the phenomenal Ayah Marar, and turned it into a festival anthem! The original track by Ayah is already epic, with huge vocals, and Pa_triot felt the need to take it up a notch, and making this track fit for the stadiums! This is a must listen and a must download!

Ravi B. is one of the most underrated producers in the game at the moment, constantly releasing strong remixes that are getting picked up left and right for radio, and I’m happy to announce that his remix of Matt Cardle & Melanie C “Loving You” was made an official remix by the UK camp, a first for the young producer from Rutgers University. Maximum respect to Ravi B. for getting approval from the winner of X-Factor UK Matt Cardle (who beat out One Direction that same season…) and Sporty Spice from the super group the Spice Girls! Must listen and support by copping his work on Beatport!

Collin McLoughlin has been on a roll as of late. His “Starlight” remix was shouted out by Don Diablo. His “Escape” remix was shouted out by 3LAU. His “Body Work” remix was shouted out by Morgan Page. I could go on. Today, he drops a new remix on the world because 1,500 pound Tuna. Collin McLoughin is blowing up, there’s no stopping him now.

One of the most entrancing new songs that’s been running across the radio-waves has to be Lorde’s “Royals”. The slow tempo, anti-materialism ballad has the world captured, meaning it’s the perfect time for remixes! Sharkf3ng hops on the track and, interestingly enough, keeps the tempo the same allowing the song to keep much of it’s original flare. With a hard-hitting bass line and provocative womps, Sharkf3ngs truly a product to remember.
