Bass | TIME PILOT Makes Their Dazzling Debut With “Zulu”
Posted by Tay on December 17, 2015
Few countries have been able to pump out superstars quite like Australia has in recent years. Artists like Flume, Wave Racer, and Snakehips championed the rising future bass sound in America, while others like Anna Lunoe brought her signature brand of bass-y house stateside. This influx of Australian talent has led to the emergence of a new class of Australian artists ready to make their mark on dance music. The Perth-based duo, TIME PILOT, draw inspiration from the likes of Flume, Mr. Carmack, and Snakehips, and these inspirations shine through on his debut track, “Zulu,” as the duo intricately blends their “retro” style with thumping kicks and a booming drop.

Bass | Rob Gasser’s “Copycat” EP Is A Melodic Bass Gem
Posted by VMan on December 7, 2015
Rob Gasser’s Copycat EP, released via Fox Stevensons’ own Cloudhead Records, showcases melodic bass music through three different tempos, 174, 140, and 110. Not sure if it’s the various types of songs, or just Rob Gasser’s damn good producing, but Copycat EP is all it’s own. Featuring no vocal tracks, something that Rob has touched on previously with bass-pop releases like “Meltdown (ft. Richard Caddock,)” the 3-track EP delivers the same level of contentment you’d get from any favorite album, a true gem and a nice pack of tunes to hold fans over a while.

Dabin continues his hot streak with another Kannibalen Release, this time an EP entitled Hold / She Was. This three track project is fit with two originals, including a feature with long time collaborator Daniela Andrade. Their work on “Hold” is a magical venture into an anthemic future style. Coming second is a harder original that is stacked with more bass. “She Was” still has that soft tone that Dabin has been continuously shaping over the year. If two originals weren’t enough for you, Stolensnares dished out a future bass remix of “Hold” that adds a nice concluding touch to the EP. Dabin will be embarking on a huge tour in 2016 with label mates Black Tiger Sex Machine and Apashe that will take them all over North America. Dates and information can be found here. If they go anywhere near you, make sure you make it! These three together are an experience like none other.

One of trap’s finest stars in Vaski has partnered up with one of the most active and talented vocalists in dance music, Anna Yvette. Their work together on the single “Pacific” is truly extraordinary. Vaski dabbles in hard bass music, aside from his vicious trap beats, so with this one it’s no surprise he goes for a more hybrid sound that strikes a balance between the differing styles. As always, the Mother of Unicorns, Anna Yvette, delivers a magnificent performance that will have you singing along in no time. “Pacific” isn’t one of those songs that simply implements the same drop twice, so expect some variation when you are listening through the entire track. What makes this one even better is that the two artists have given it out as a free download!
