Bass | MiNDTRiX & SWRVN Drop Remix Of Travis Marsh “Illegal”

Posted by on October 20, 2017

New groups are a dime a dozen, but MiNDTRiX have legs on them that makes them stand out. From sound to brand and now their latest remix with SWRVN, the duo is solidifying themselves quickly within the dance scene while still providing a certain level of mystery about who they are and what they do. “iLLEGAL (MiNDTRiX x SWRVN REMiX)” is rough around the edges but still very dance friendly, a unique essense that can be hard to capture. MiNDTRiX is also the winner of the Lay Me Down remix contest, showcasing they are plugged in and more foreward thinking than some may initially give them credit for.

Bass | DEMUR Drops Music Video For New Single “Tell Me Your Secrets”

Posted by on October 10, 2017

DEMUR has released what seems to be the first in a new series of releases.”Tell Me Your Secrets” being the opening chapter, paired with a Halloween music video that gives an ode to some of the best horror flicks of our time. The term “banger” doesn’t do this single justice. DEMUR goes above and beyond what the typical bass fan would expect, showcasing a cataclysmic, monstrous dropped with a flailing, slurring melody. The single feels industrial and gritty while still providing plenty of catchy melody to latch on to. If this is DEMUR’s return, I’m into it.

Bass | Becko Drops Metal-Influenced Bass EP “Reborn”

Posted by on October 4, 2017

Becko, a rising artist based out of Italy, has infused musical elements from the post-hardcore/metal world and injected it into various types of bass tracks. Reborn is the result, a four-track experience that leaves you with something new. Becko was formally the vocalist and bassist for the metal band Hopes Die Last, an aspect that has clearly given Becko an advantage to stand out. Reborn is a streak of freshness that’s always good to hear.

DO SOMETHING

Bass | Egzod And Clips X Ahoy Release Banger “Everything (feat. KLA)”

Posted by on September 28, 2017

Despite its many pros and cons, social media has made it much easier for artists to collaborate with a few simple DMs. This is how French world-bass artist Egzod and the rule-breaking beatmaker Clips x Ahoy first linked up for their new “Everything” single. Building a track that is elegant and edgy at the same time, this fiery beat shines with its use of varied textures, whirling synths, knocking drums, and a gut-punching drop that will leave you speechless. Further enhanced by the gorgeous vocals of KLA, “Everything” is an appropriate title. These two artists clearly brought themselves to the creative apex with this song.

Bass | Tre Sera & Sevim Drop Dim Mak Single “Knuckles Up”

Posted by on September 27, 2017

Two forward-thinking bass artists, Tre Sera & Sevim, have been given an opportunity hundreds of artists want but few get, a release on Steve Aoki’s label Dim Mak. “Knuckles Up” captures the best of both artists that are fast becoming known for and is already catching major success. The melody embedded into the drop of the song is more than attention-grabbing, a perfect single to go down at that epic time in any bass set.

One can hope this isn’t the last track these two make together.

Bass | Black Tiger Sex Machine & YOOKiE Drop Monster Collab

Posted by on September 27, 2017

Black Tiger Sex Machine and YOOKiE have dropped a monstrous collaboration called “Lions” that is extra hot. This beast isn’t the only thing I have to share because with the single comes the news that BTSM will be dropping another album. How they’ve had time to put something together while being on tour over Summer and currently on the Midnight Terror dates, is beyond me. But, they’re doing it. If the album is anything like “Lions” then it’s going to be game over. “Lions” is a bass booming masterpiece whose sound isn’t anything like what you currently hear in the bass music world. Have a listen and hear for yourself.

Bass | JETSET Releases Genre-Defying Mayday EP For Free

Posted by on September 25, 2017

JETSET has been unraveling his EP throughout the entirety of September. Now, his full EP Mayday is finally here complete with six tracks. I thought we’d be getting an EP of full on bass, but JETSET switches things up throughout, showing an entirely new creative side to him. Instead of just getting our usual dose of JETSET’s low frequencies, he goes full on composer with songs that aren’t really electronic at all. In mixing the two styles he shows just where electronic music can go. Mayday is a complete project telling a story through the whole project. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
