Exclusive Interview
What is the most important thing you’ve learned about yourself since starting your musical career?
Acceptance, compassion, indifference, and alertness. The more I can open my arms to the world around me, while also being diligent about those who surround me have my best interests, is a super important factor for me now. I’ve been through plenty of experiences where I was surrounded by individuals that didn’t have my best interests, and now it is almost a gut feeling/intuition if I’m in an environment that isn’t right for me. My goal is for our whole village and family to come up together, but at times when there are snakes in the grass, you have to mow the lawn.
What has been your favorite festival to perform at and why?
Hard Summer was undeniably my favorite performance experience thus far. Although I have yet to be booked for my own show at a festival, performing alongside Arius with our hit record “CRAZY FOR FALLING” was a moment I’ll never forget! I’m excited to bridge the gap between EDM and vocals, as I plan to DJ and SING for my festival performances, alongside a live band (drums, guitar, keys, etc.) I’m super excited to see what the future holds and which productions find me and the show a good fit for their experience.
Which songs from DREAMERBOY typically receive the best crowd reaction during your live performances? Why do you think they have this effect on your audience?
I have yet to unveil the full album live apart from my release party at Madame Siam in Hollywood, but from there I learned each song pulls the crowd in different directions. The goal of DREAMERBOY is to capture as much emotion as possible, and take the listener through a journey about love, growth, and self-acceptance. While I utilize heartbreak songs to show vulnerability, I also add self love songs to show what I’ve learned from those experiences. The entire album start to finish tells a story, and if the listener really delves into the lyrics, they can understand the whole message through & through. It’s a constant push and pull, from light and dark, and heartbroken sadness to uplifting love.
How does the music video for “Please Be The One” embody the song itself? What is your favorite visual element from it?
The whole video is up to the watchers interpretation really. I wanted to bring the dancing element to encapsulate me dancing with who I think might be “the one.” My favorite visual element has to be the ocean striking me as the emotion of life and love seem right there at my feet.
How has LA impacted your taste and passion for music?
LA really just taught me the business side, and how the industry works on the ins and outs. My taste and passion comes deep from where I’m from and my connection to God. LA to me is simply a good place to make my dreams come into fruition. My passion comes from my loved ones, family, friends, musical inspirations, and God. LA has certainly opened my eyes to all aspects of music and that there is so much more to uncover. Each day is a new opportunity to create something incredible.

Albums | Coral Gables Shares Debut Album Still Alive
Posted by VMan on April 16, 2023
Coral Gables is the project of Cuban-American singer-songwriter Erik Beruvides based out of Denton, Texas. Coming from a background of musical grandmothers, he was naturally drawn to the diverse music that played in his childhood home in Lubbock, Texas, from Celia Cruz to Juan Luis Guerra and Abba to The Cars. He draws upon the music passed down by his family, while being shaped by the music he discovered with friends, such as Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, and The Magnetic Fields, among others.
Still Alive is Coral Gables’ debut album, which portrays a segment of his life where everything fell apart and his search to make sense of how to move forward. Musically, the album draws inspiration from the likes of Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, and Talk Talk to Radiohead, TV On The Radio, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, while also incorporating Latin music influences from Coral Gables’ Cuban background to create a unique and interesting blend that stands out as his own.
Speaking further on the album, Coral Gables says, “Still Alive is my way of processing the past and creating a new path for my life. Leading up to 2019, I had several difficult life circumstances: unemployment, an empty bank account, family disagreements, fickle friends, religious abuse by people and institutions – and then the pandemic hit in 2020. I made the decision during the pandemic to write and record an album that describes my journey through loss, suffering and acceptance.”
Albums | Nxll Shares New Single “One of One”
Posted by VMan on April 14, 2023
Nxll is a rising rapper hailing from Prince George’s County, Maryland, and based in Chicago, Illinois. His passion for music began at an early age, and he honed his skills as a music producer during his junior year of high school. Nxll’s talent and dedication quickly led him to explore rapping, which he began pursuing during his freshman year of college. From his early days as a music producer to his current status as a rising rap star, Nxll is committed to delivering a unique and unforgettable musical experience to his growing audience, as is evident on his newly released single, “One of One”, and accompanying visualiser.
“One of One” makes an impact on first listen. Featuring a gritty, atmospheric beat and Nxll’s unmistakable and effortless rap flow, “One of One” shines the spotlight on a talented rapper in his element. The track also showcases his clever lyricism while he raps about being confident on his journey that everything will work out, which he wrote during a difficult period.
Elaborating further, Nxll says, “I created this track during a pretty difficult time. I moved from DC to Chicago this past summer and don’t know many people here. I struggled a lot just trying to figure out life in general out here, and sometimes I don’t know who or what to trust. I know I have an ultimate goal that’s in music, but you never know where this journey is going to take you or what chances you have to take along the way.
“Through it all I remain confident that things will work out no matter what. I believe this track encapsulates this feeling I’ve been having. Something that is a one of one is completely unique and can never be replicated. I believe that describes me as an artist and human. The visualiser blends lifestyle scenes from both DC and Chicago, representing the move I recently made and the culture shift I had to adapt to.”

Albums | NYC producer Cheyne Christian drops stunning afro- house bootleg of Message In A Bottle
Posted by VMan on April 5, 2023
Multi-genre, NYC producer Cheyne Christian has served up an enticing afro-house bootleg
of The Police classic ‘Message In A Bottle’ for release on his own Bridge & Tunnel Beat. Co
label. Titled ‘SOS’ and featuring the renowned singing drummer Josh Dion of Paris Monster,
it’s already been on rotation with Claptone who has supported pretty much everything
Cheyne has put out.
When Cheyne turns his hand to a bootleg, good things happen. His rework of Phil Collins’ ‘In
The Air Tonight’ – also resung by Josh Dion – was a smash, as was ‘Sunglasses At Night’
which went down a storm when Claptone dropped it at Pacha Ibiza in his closing set of The
Masquerade. With rolling drums and a deep club groove set to the famous guitar riff and
vocal of The Police original, Cheyne’s ‘SOS’ has all the constituent parts to be on rotation
this summer.
Cheyne Christian is on a fine run of form with his own New York style of Latin, tribal and Afro
house that has been picked up by such quality labels as Nervous, Toolroom, Saved, Force
Of Habit, Wired, Stealth and more.
Testament to his sharp studio skills, Cheyne has a string of high profile fans that also include
Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, Roger Sanchez, Oscar G, Cedric Gervais, Sam Divine and Shiba
San.
This new bootleg draws on Cheyne’s years of dancefloor experience. Be it a daytime pool
party, club or at sunset, ‘SOS’ is sure to unite crowds wherever it’s played. Cheyne said,
“I’ve always been a huge fan of Sting, especially his voice. As I started to get into the Afro
house sound and experimenting in my sets, the idea just came to me one day, so I made the
acappella and hired a guitar player from Africa to play the riff over the drums and raw Sting
acappella. It got support from some solid names, so I decided to make it an official release.
Josh Dion was great on my Phil Collins cover, and I just knew he would crush a Sting cover.
I sent him the track and 36 hours later I had the amazing vocals back from him.”
There’s something pretty special about Cheyne; he has a unique DJing history that defies
his years. Cheyne’s selector skills were recognised early on and he was made resident at
the legendary Tunnel club aged just 17. He was a hit across the NYC circuit, warming up for
Danny Tenaglia and alongside Roger Sanchez, and landing residencies and quest spots at
other iconic venues including Webster Hall, China Club and Avalon when he was still so
young. The demand never wavered and today Cheyne can be found soundtracking across
the US including some of his favourite haunts, Somewhere NoWhere (NYC) and House of
Hyde at SLS (Miami).
