Hip-Hop, Rap | GoldLink – They Don’t Like Me
Posted by admin on July 24, 2013

Over the past few months we’ve seen music take numerous cities by storm. First, Seattle’s movement lead by Macklemore, followed soon by a Chicago campaign spearheaded by Chance the Rapper and Chief Keef. Now bloggers and fans wait anxiously, all in hopes that their hometown is the next to take over. I, admittedly, am one of those bloggers. However, I know the DMV is next to pop where as most other people are just hoping.
Today I bring you “They Don’t Like Me” the newest song from Virginia resident, GoldLink. Although I can be quick to place an artist in a box with similar sounding acts, I can’t quite put my finger on GoldLink’s sound. His delivery and cadence control is that of a rap veteran, with each line punctuating the Skywlkr beat with force.
“They Don’t Like Me” is just a taste of what this kid can do, so stay tuned for some of the full-length tracks that he’s got coming, because from what I’ve heard it won’t be long before GoldLink is a name that will be popping up on a regular basis.
Hip-Hop, Rap | Marc Goone – Dear Mom [Video]

It’s always very difficult for me to construct a write up for a song like this one. In my opinion, music speaks louder than words and because of that, I’m going to skip the synopsis and let you listen.
Please purchase “Dear Mom” from iTunes as 100% of profits go to Friends of Kids with Cancer.
Hip-Hop | HAHA-YO – Dancing Like An Idiot [Video]
Posted by admin on July 19, 2013
HAHA-YO has returned funkier than ever and on a mission to protect the secret sauce.
Whatever the secret sauce may be, HAHA-YO most definitely put plenty of it on this last song and video. In an industry filled with monotonous, unoriginal artists I can say without hesitation that there is no one quite like HAHA-YO. The duo can make the most introverted, shy listener get up on his or her feet and dance with the play of a song.
“Dancing Like an Idiot” is without a doubt on the lighter side of hip-hop and has a sound sure to attract many kitchen-dancers, shower-singers, and motor vehicle-rockstars alike.
Directed by Mikey Van Beuren, the video is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. A mini-movie to go along with the soundtrack, the visual follows Boyder and Lukey the Bird on their journey to save their pizza dynasty and each other. There are -thankfully- no shots rapping in to a camera from a rooftop or in a studio, instead the team has given you something to sit down, enjoy and actually get intrigued by.
HAHA-YO has recently released their EP, HEY., and if you missed it, it can be downloaded here for free!
Hip-Hop, Rap | ProbCause (ft. Chance the Rapper) – LSD [Video]
Posted by admin on July 18, 2013
One word: trippy. If you are familiar with ProbCause and/or Chance the Rapper, you’re likely to know that they dabble in the psychedelic drugs. Their newest musical offering is quite appropriately titled “LSD” and the recently released video will have you tripping nearly as much as the drug itself.
The two Chicago emcees take you through their trip, on a journey that is perhaps almost as unimaginable as their rise to stardom. Both rappers have made outstanding progress in their careers -ProbCause having dropped his mixtape and Chance getting the nod of approval from Ed Sheeran– just to name a few.
Sit back and let the music and visual take you away.
Hip-Hop | The Kings Dead – Honest Abe
Posted by admin on July 18, 2013
Coming off of the release of their mixtape Return of the Beast, the duo known as The Kings Dead has unleashed their newest single titled “Honest Abe”. Continuing with the darker sound they seem to have adopted, Alex Mendoza gives rapper, Sonny Shotz, a canvas to paint a picture of the music and culture that currently surround.
It surely has not been an easy return for the band since their several month hiatus, however, with releases like this one I imagine it’s only a matter of time before The Kings Dead have regained the buzz they had a couple years back. According to their website, it won’t be long before these kids hit the road once more, so be sure to catch them in a city near you!
Electro, Hip-Hop | Party People Press Play (Playlist)
Posted by admin on July 14, 2013
We Like Peach Rings is back! After the incredibly positive response from music consumers across the web for our 60 Sounds of Summer compilation, the duo-turned-trio has struck again. This time we’ve narrowed down our playlist to a very select 25 songs, hopefully, enough to keep you entertained but also fiend-ing for more.
The vast majority of songs on the list are either hip-hop or EDM, but the entirety of them are guaranteed to get you on your feet groovin’. Although the men behind the scenes are some very peachy playlisters, we make these for the people! If you enjoy (or don’t enjoy) the mixes, let us know. Press play and keep updated as you’ll soon have the ability to press download as well.
Hip-Hop, Rap | Sam Lachow – 80 Bars Pt. 2
Posted by admin on July 13, 2013
Oh, where to begin…Well, how about with GZA, because that’s exactly where Sam started. Then on to Lil’ Keke, Kanye, Keak Da Sneak, Nelly, and finally TLC. Blending all these instrumentals together flawlessly, Lachow shows off his versatility as well as command of delivery. Seattle born and raised, Sam has no qualms with showing pride for The Town; the whole video is shot throughout the city and displays Sam and company clowning around. And, that’s really what this release was about, after the slowed-down introspective sounds of Sam’s previous release, “King Lear“, this was a fun way to bounce back and show that the fun-loving kid was still having a great time making music.
Sam has just finished up his Midwest/Northwest tour and is now back at it in the studio. There is without a doubt plenty more to be heard, and in fact “80 Bars Pt. 3” will release as soon as Lachow reaches 10k followers on Twitter. What are you waiting for? Go follow him, I need some new music!
