House | Bender and Paige Give Lloyd and Lil Wayne’s “Girls Around The World” A Summer-Ready Makeover
Posted by Tay on June 10, 2015
While we may be a few decades (or centuries) away from actually being able to time travel, we have the next best option to take you a few years into the past, thanks to two of New York’s fastest-rising producers, Keith Bender and Paige. Since Bender emerged with his remix of Route 94’s hit, “My Love,” the talented artist has left his mark with his sun-soaked style of future house, and today, he’s taken on Lloyd’s jam, “Girls Around The World” featuring Lil Wayne. Bender and Paige channel the heavy 2008 R&B vibes of Lloyd’s original, but bring it back to the future with a modern-day house revival of the hit, as the two wunderkinds deliver a big, whomping bass line and subtle percussion accents that perfectly complements Lloyd’s croons and Wayne’s verse.

House | “Slowly” Finally Has A Named Creator And It Is Dropout
Posted by Tay on June 10, 2015
The ultra-addictive tune, “Slowly,” was pronounced to be the work of ZHU once it was released due to the ID tagged on as the artist upon its debut. However, a Santa Barbara trio by the name of Dropout now comes forth as the production wizards behind the track, and “Slowly” is the latest release from Big Beat Records. The only way to listen to this song is to dance simultaneously. It brings together the best of deep house, progressive house, future house, and a splash of pop to account for the vocal’s catchiness. These guys are about to blow up with Pete Tong already giving them the nod of approval so definitely keep an eye on their future rise.
Drum & Bass | Annie Mac Unveils New Single From Exciting New Collaborative Group, With You.
Posted by Tay on June 9, 2015
The mysterious producer, With You., has remained nameless and faceless since he made his debut last month with remixes of Beyonce’s “Partition” and Spank Rock’s “Gully.” After briefly surfacing to deliver the two masterful efforts, the cryptic producer has come through once again, but it turns out that With You. is actually a brand new collaborative group featuring Rick Trainor, Jeff Penalva, Noah Schy, Daouda Leonard, and Dave Taylor (Switch, formerly of Major Lazer), and they are ready to deliver their inaugural EP, Speak, on Hypercolour later this month. Last week, BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac premiered the official remix of the EP’s name track, “Speak,” by the UK drum & bass trio, 2 Bad Mice, giving the world its first glimpse at the first original by With You. 2 Bad Mice give the remix their signature drum & bass flair, quickening the pace and turning it into a breakbeat masterpiece. Speak is out on June 29th via Hypercolour.

This track was originally circulating as an ID and already had a teaser video on Spinnin’s Youtube channel, but Pep & Rash have officially taken ownership once again for an unclaimed banger and this time it’s “Red Roses.” Premiered on MistaJam’s BBC Radio 1, “Red Roses” presents a contrast of Western guitar melodies and slick, deep basslines that surprisingly meld well together.
