Posted by Tay on July 6, 2015
Back again with another dance anthem, Mr. Belt & Wezol pull up UK talent Freejak into the spotlight for a new single titled “Somebody To Love.” You may recognize the captivating vocal line that cries “Don’t you want somebody to love” as it is the famous lyrics of Jefferson Airplane’s 1967 single. Leaving the vocal in a similar habitat with an underlying guitar melody, Freejak, Mr. Belt & Wezol create a party-starter that is one of those tracks the DJ drops just as the party is winding down to keep it going until the morning light. House | EDX Unveils His Miami Sunset Remix of Spada’s “Catchfire”
Posted by Tay on July 2, 2015

He’s currently in the midst of his massive “Want You” tour, but he’s delivered a Beatport chart-topping remix of Sam Feldt’s “Show Me Love,” and now, he’s unveiled his “Miami Sunset” remix of Spada’s “Catchfire.” The remix is a two-faced monster – EDX keeps the summery vibes of Spada’s original untouched, but gives the track a deep groove, turning it into a dance floor heater. The remix is due out on July 6th via EGO.

Posted by Tay on June 24, 2015
We’ve come a long way since the days of listening to disco, house, and techno in illegal warehouse parties, but the soul and emotion of dance music has never changed. As dance music has grown bigger and bigger, producers have looked outside of traditional genre boundaries, bringing together different elements of various genres to create more innovative, niche sounds. Michael Calfan has been exploring deeper sonic territories of house lately, combining deep house with elements of big room to create what he dubs “soul house.” His latest track, “Mercy,” is soul house at its finest, as Calfan layers a piano-driven melody with an old-school vocal sample and blaring horn arrangements that gives the track a sunny personality.
Electro-House | Andrei Stephen Debuts On Mau5trap With “Some Chords” Remix
Posted by Tay on June 24, 2015
Remix competitions have always been a fun way to push producers to throw their own unique spin on a track, and help unearth hidden talent, and deadmau5 and Beatport did just that. The outspoken, mau5trap head honcho and Beatport teamed up to host a remix competition for Dillon Francis’ electro-influenced moombah remix of “Some Chords,” and Andrei Stephen delivered a gem. The Toronto-native was able to separate himself from the other entrants with his unique remix that could only be described as fusion between electro and future house. Stephen keeps the iconic chord progressions of the original, while weaving together big, booming bass lines with glitchy synth stabs and a heavy-hitting electro backbone to deliver a stunning product.
