Dubstep | R Rated #29
Posted by Sev on May 17, 2012
Due to some technical difficulties yesterday, I wasn’t able to make it back to the site when it was back online so we had to push back R Rated unfortunately. No worries though, that just means more bass driven bangers for you guys to enjoy. For example this amazing VIP was given away on UKF today by DC Breaks. Given that the original was a Dnb masterpiece, this VIP dubstep mix utilizes the vocals to the max with some new synth additions along the amazing bassline melody. Next up we check out some of the previews and released tracks of the week. Ajapai has been doing work on Rottun records releasing a contstant flow of heavy hitting tunes. You can add his latest single to that list, which is comprised of some aggressive sounds almost resembeling some of the sounds from Downlinks – Factory.
We haven’t heard much from Mojo since his release of Carnival , but now it looks like his EP for Buygore is near completion with previews up on their Soundcloud. I’m kind of bummed this collaboration isn’t featured on the EP because of it’s a one of a kind heavy hitting drop. I’ll be on the lookout for an official release for this one.
Toning it down just a little bit on this next remix; TYR brings a top of the line remix to Calvin Harris’s latest collaboration with Ne-Yo entitled Let’s Go. Being that it is for a remix competition he isn’t allowed to give this remix out just yet. Each drop in this track is different and pretty dope which was why I had to feature it this week. There not insanely crazy drops, but they’re a style that resembles a fusion between old school Flux Pavillion and Nero drops we used to see. The second drop definitely won me over on this one. Be sure to vote for this remix on the Beatport remix competition HERE.
Time for some free downloads so READ ON.
Dubstep | Sub Focus ft. Kenzie May – Falling Down [Remixes]
Posted by Sev on May 15, 2012
Sub Focus proving over and over again as to why he is one of the best in the business with his latest remix EP that he couldn’t help but be a part of. Contributing to this EP as if his original wasn’t near perfection, he comes back with an even more stellar VIP mix to one of his latest Dubstep anthems, Falling Down. Skrillex has been smashing stages with this latest VIP leaving the fans wondering whos it was, well now everyone can have it for themselves. Also featured on the EP we have the heavy hitting xKore bringing his grimey synths, but changing it up with a more lively drop that pops with the melody. We don’t usually see this style of melody from him which caught me off guard. Last we have Nick Thayer’s remix, which was a disappointing one. I knew he would take a shot at a Moombahton style remix, but it didn’t turn out for the best. The sounds lacked flow and the original track was lost in the remix which was a big let down for me. You can grab these remixes on Beatport HERE.

Moombahton | Moombah Mondays (Trap Edition)
Posted by Sev on May 14, 2012
Moomba Blasta has been on point with their Trap uploads lately, and they have won me over. Honestly I cannot get enough of Trap-style after roaming through their youtube channel so I decided this weeks Moombah Mondays is going to be dedicated to Trap-style tracks. Starting off with the above track; wow do I love those vocals. The quick drums and snares accompanied by that heavy bass kick are bound to get the job done for any crowd. Whether you like it or not Flosstradamus, being one of the big names in Trap, is having their tracks played out by all the big names; Diplo, Flux Pavillion, Dillon Francis just to name a few. Just to help broaden your views on the genre I have two tracks from Flosstradamus on this weeks Trap-style Mondays. One is an old track that I just fell in love with again after hearing it being freestyled over by Papoose on Sway In The Morning, 5 Fingers of Death Freestyles. The newer one entitled Look At The Sky, gives you a taste of some hip-hop infused Trap music. Both bringing some extreme boundaries together into one amazing genre that is still growing.
This next one is a secret weapon of Luminox’s that he was kind enough to give away. I never new the famous Bingo Players track Rattle would ever be pushed to these bounds, but this is one of my favorite remixes to the track. The prolonged bass kick, fits perfectly with this melody and the reversal of the melody on the second drop worked out phenomenally.
Another truly remarkable and unique interpretation of a big dubstep track. Doctor P decided to put his single Neon up for a remix competition and so far most artist have decide to just try their hand at it, but end up giving away their remixes. This one I was happy to have from CRNKN, because it is so organized and well constructed. Nothing feels forced or out of place like I have heard with other tracks. I would love to see this sort of track being played more by big EDM artist to help expand these smaller genres.

Drum & Bass | Xilent — Ultrafunk EP
Posted by Sev on May 14, 2012
Xilent has been unleashing some of his most highly anticipated work lately. Whether it was finally releasing his Ode To Bouncer Remix or his remix to Out The Blue, the fans have been wanting more from this talented artist. Deciding to bring this EP back to his DnB funky roots we get to see a side of Xilent we haven’t seen much of lately. This is some of the most exhilarating, original, crowd-pleasing Drum & Bass all built into one EP. Every track on here pulls its own weight leaving no room for disappointment from Xilent on this EP.
Starting off with Twisted, we have a gradual build into a soothing melody that grows to a point where the music cuts off. Then we get an overbearing, crazy style drop that is sure to blow you back a few feet. Ultra gives the same vibes as Twisted with a nice melody to start off, into a more up-beat Jump-up style of Drum & Bass drop. Beyond, being the third track on the EP has a more euphoric sound to it, which is very hard to accomplish with DnB. With some fast paced melodic builds and intricate sounds produced later on during the track this one shows the true talent Xilent has. Last on the EP we have Do It, which we preivewed on Dnb Saturdays. A must have for all Drum & Bass fans without a doubt. Grab it on Beatport HERE

Dubstep, Electro-House | Virtual Riot ft. Amba Shepherd – Superhuman (Andrew D Dubstep Bootleg)
Posted by Sev on May 13, 2012
So we previewed this amazing remix courtesy of Andrew D last week on R Rated, which finally convinced him to finish it thanks to you guys and your support. I could have just released it as a free track, but I have been releasing Andrew’s past tracks right away and he doesn’t seem to be getting the support he deserves; I feel. So I decided that we will release this bootleg for free once his facebook hits 500 likes, which isn’t asking for too much. The more you guys share and get him to the goal of 500 likes, the sooner you can have this amazing remix, and trust me its dope. So go to his Facebook page provided HERE and give him a like if you want this track. I will also provide some of his other tracks below to show you what I mean when I say he doesn’t have the support he deserves.

Dubstep | Tezzeract – All Along
Posted by Sev on May 13, 2012
It is nice to see some new progress and originality from up and coming artist every now and then. I posted the original version to this track a few months ago when Tezzeract gave it away, but it wasn’t mastered or as crisp sounding as this remastered version. He took all the fuzzy sounding synths and made them crystal clear with an even stronger bass kick to drive the crowds crazy. Even after the 50+ plays on my iTunes from the original I look forward to starting over and listening to this one again. Something about the vocal slicing and unique sounding synths makes me want to just repeat the track and listen again all day. Would love to see some artist drop this one over the festival season, no doubt. The download link is also provided below the Soundcloud player, although you don’t need to actually insert an amount to buy the track because it is a free download. Show him some support if you did enjoy the track. Also you can follow him on Facebook HERE.
Drum & Bass | DnB Saturdays
Posted by Sev on May 12, 2012
Summer has begun (well at least for me) and that means festivals and music all day everyday. Not being able to post for almost a week because of finals was driving me crazy, so this is the first post of many. Xilent has slowly climbed up my chart of favorites near the top with his melodic yet bass bumping Dnb and Dubstep. Being released on Tuesday is his newest EP “UltraFunk” with some promising tracks, incuding this amazing monstrous original DnB track entitled Do It. Great stuff from Audio Porn Records; they wont be disappointed with this one at all. The next and last preview was sent to us from our friends over at InfraRed music providing us with nothing short of the best in Dnb. Rewind dropping a new track that is heavy on the bass and the perfect secret weapon for destroying any crowd. The track should be releasing within the next month so stay tuned for more information on its release.
This has to be one of the best free giveaways in the past month thanks to Loadstar. These guys are masters of Dnb, and they gave the fans this nice little two track EP. Second Skin just absolutely melted my face off when I heard and I just can’t stop jamming to the sick basslines. Don’t pass up on these or else you will regret it.
Drumsound and Bassline Smith being kind enough to grace us with a freebie this week as well. Really interesting melody choice for this track, nevertheless is still goes hard. These guys are bringing the bass as well and also the crazy synth sounds. Amazing progression of instrumentsx through the track as well.
