Electro-House | Alesso – Tear The Roof Up (Moiez Remix)
Posted by Middy on September 29, 2014
Alesso’s “Tear The Roof Up” was one of the most hotly anticipated tunes this summer after being his opening track on and off for close to two years. Now Moiez, who is only picking up steam with his recent releases, goes electro on this one, building his own track around the vocal bit. He keeps some of the original melody, but creates a whole new atmosphere with his own powerful saws that don’t overwhelm with the help of carefully crafted synths. You will be hard pressed to find a better “Tear The Roof Up” remix out right now. As per usual, it is a free download, so make sure you grab this right now!

Electro-House | Stafford Brothers & M35 – Carne Asada
Posted by Middy on September 29, 2014
You probably know the Cash Money records signed Stafford Brothers by now and have heard of M35 for their tunes “Revolution 909” and “Go!” alongside MAKJ. Short and to the point, this tune wastes no time getting right the gritty, hard-hitting electro house that M35 has made his mark with. They switch things up a little, moving away from the bass line used in his last two tunes, but still keeping the power found in those. This is a big collab from the three LA based producers.

Progressive House | Sevag – People / Warrior March
Posted by Middy on September 26, 2014
We have two tunes for you before you head out on the town tonight (or not). French DJ, Antoine Clamaran, who is not a household name in the States, but has a very strong fan base in France and is part of French super group, Reepublic, has started his own label and Sevag’s two track EP is one of its first releases. The two tunes have the bouncy, progressive feel that has been heard in his recent tracks, like “Latina“. That kick drum is heavy, so bring the subs on these ones.

Progressive House | Mako – Our Story (Michael Brun Remix)
Posted by Middy on September 25, 2014
Mako are a very interesting duo. They can sing, they can write songs and they can definitely produce. They have had studio sessions with guys like Avicii and Steve Angello, leading to “Children Of The Wild” with Steve. Being signed to power management group Red Light Management only opens up more doors with their multitude of talents, the music under many different voices will continue to flow. One of their original tunes “Our Story” has now been given new life by none other than Michael Brun. The original is fantastic in its own right and Michael adds his own big melodic flavor to the tune for a new twist, while still preserving the vocal message from Mako.

Progressive House | Anna of the North – Sway (The Chainsmokers Remix)
Posted by Middy on September 24, 2014
Anne Of The North. Hearing “Of The North” immediately transports to the frigid northern climbs of Westeros where the dead walk, giants run rampant and woolly mammoths are not just an exhibit in the museum. But coming back to this world (I know it sucks we have to wait until April), The Chainsmokers deliver a feel filled remix that has the vintage stylistic nuances we have come to know from their past indie remixes. So turn this one up and sway, sway, sway…

Progressive House | Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman – ID2
Posted by Middy on September 23, 2014
No this is not some ode to a bygone era of constant Avicii IDs, this is simply just the name that has become branded to this tune, including on radio tracklists and to retitle it might damage the effect of the release. Let’s hope it doesn’t start a trend of artists releasing songs legitimately called “ID” because that would cause some serious problems for guys like Eric Prydz. Size has been on fire this year with their usual suspects of high energy tunes, but also a new smattering of deeper, groovier tunes that have escaped the clutches of his newly formed We Are All X imprint. In the mold of those big progressive tunes, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman return for their 4th release on the label, first since April’s smash single “Payback” that still echoes around the few remaining festival grounds and now filled arenas & concert halls. Expect to hear “ID2” plenty as the year closes out.
Another note worth mentioning, their Tom Ordell remix that was previewed last summer will finally get a release date soon, so stay tuned to Vangelis & Wyman’s socials for details.
