Posted by Middy on November 11, 2013
We have seen some incredible albums this year in dance music. From Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories” to Andrew Bayer’s “If It Were You, We’d Never Leave” to Disclosure, Pretty Lights, BT, Feed Me, Avicii, Kaskade, Gesaffelstein and Sub Focus’s albums, this year has seen the resurgence of the full length LP. You can now add Mat Zo’s “Damage Control” to that list of stunning albums.

Posted by Middy on November 8, 2013
The giveaways just keep on giving. This time up, we have a contest for all you Nicky Romero fans out there, and I know there are plenty of you. If you ever wanted to get a shirt signed, but could never win a meet & greet opportunity or didn’t want to get crushed like a sardine at the front of shows hoping for the opportunity to interact with Nicky & maybe get your shirt signed, well this is your sweat free option (luck still required). The picture shows multiple, but you will only win ONE T-Shirt and CD.
In celebration of his performance in his hometown at Sensation Amsterdam, Nicky Romero helped mixed the Sensation White CD with event resident, Mr. White, and we have a signed copy to give you. Go and preview the album on Beatport here. This contest is only available for those living in the US. Don’t forget to check out the inspiring video for his track with Krewella “Legacy”.
Dubstep, Progressive House, Trance | Krewella – Live For The Night (Remixes)
Posted by Middy on November 8, 2013
Sony and Interscope are dueling for the best remix package this week. Zedd’s “Stay The Night” vs Sony’s (Columbia), “Live For The Night” makes for some big names and great remixes. W&W don’t get enough credit. The sound they help bring into the mainstream has become a bit overused, but they were the ones who popularized it. There are thousands of imitators, but only one W&W and this remix shows that once again. Dash Berlin molds their anthemic trance sound to the track, keeping it accessible, while still remaining true to their current direction. Deniz Koyu & Danny Avila add a somewhat cheesy progressive remix to the bunch, which is very disappointing for Deniz Koyu and you know Avila’s deal. Krewella also remain in genre by tabbing Pegboard Nerds and Xilent to switch things up on the track.
Electro-House | Tommy Trash – Fuckwind
Posted by Middy on November 7, 2013
In the midst of the Hounds Of Hell tour with Wolfgang Gartner, Tommy Trash has unleashed a rare free download for his fans. As you may remember, EDC Las Vegas 2012 had some wind issues that forced the festival to be shut down, (E Zoo will be fine), and Tommy is expressing his displeasure with how nature took control of events. The track has hints of the vintage Tommy Trash sound, while offering something new from himself, a refreshing change of pace for the Australian’s discography. It’s a no strings attached free download, so you are going to get it.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Zedd ft. Hayley Williams – Stay The Night (Remixes)
Posted by Middy on November 7, 2013
Zedd’s followup to “Clarity”, “Stay The Night” has made its ascent onto the radio airwaves and up the charts with its blend of a complex, musicality and accessibility in poppy dance music. Just as was the case with “Clarity”, “Stay The Night” has earned a huge set of remixes from some of the biggest and brightest names in dance music. Henry Fong adds his own gritty electro flavor to the track in what has been the remix favored by Zedd himself. Nicky Romero plays along with the melody, while DJ Snake opts for a more electro route, rather than 808s he has become known for, and Tiesto switches out the melody for a big room take. Grab the package on Beatport below.

Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | Seven Lions On Taking Time Off From Touring, Upcoming Productions And More
Posted by Middy on November 6, 2013
There aren’t many guys who have created trends and styles in dance music today. Seven Lions’ patented brand of melodic dubstep has quickly become one of the go-to styles for a throng of copycats and established producers alike. After transitioning from metal to electronic music, Jeff Montalvo made his presence felt in a huge way with his Beatport competition winning remix of Above & Beyond’s “You Got To Go”, that would launch his career and open doors that were not even on possible for him to reach before.
We caught up with Seven Lions on his tour bus before he was slated to go on at Pier 94 on Halloween with Krewella, Gareth Emery, Candyland and Cash Cash. We chatted about his upcoming plans, including taking time off from touring next year, touring in general, releases he has coming up, music piracy and much more.
