FYI | Wildstylez Rips Off Deadmau5 “Some Chords”
Posted by Middy on February 21, 2014
Dutch hardstyle producer Wildstylez (why does every hardstyle producer replace s with z in their name) recently released his tune “Straightfoward”, fitting in its own right, that just takes the chords from Deadmau5’s “Some Chords” and drags and drops them into his own tune. To quote deadmau5, wildstylz did not just take “some chords”, but all of them, in the same order, which makes this as bad as it could possibly be. I would not say this is on the level of will.i.steal, but it is pretty damn close damn close. Deadmau5 can be a prick sometimes, but he also isn’t afraid to speak his mind and going after someone who blatantly copied his song. I would say listen for yourself, but it is so obvious you will hear it the immediately.
Here is a solution. The damage has been done for both sides, bridges burned, images tarnished in the eyes of the other. However out of respect for deadmau5, because this would never go to trial, Wildstylez could pull the tune from iTunes, release it as a free download and credit deadmau5. The track is on his label so he doesn’t have too many hurdles to jump through. This will probably never happen, but I tried.
Some tweets:
if youre going to rip off "some chords" rip off SOME chords… not ALL OF THEM. IN THE SAME FUCKIN ORDER. lol

Innovative electronic duo, The Glitch Mob have released their sophomore artist album “Love Death Immortality”. Following up their 2010 effort, “Drink The Sea”, Ed Ma “edIT”, Joshua Mayer “Ooah” and Justin Boreta “Boreta”, reinforce their standing within their own unique, niche electronic space that they have helped carve and have steadily grown with each passing release and show. The album shot all the way up to number two on the iTunes overall album charts, showing not only the dedication of their incredibly passionate fan base, but also the mass appeal that their sound has garnered despite it not being mainstream or commercial in anyway.
Exclusive, Interviews | Matt Fax Talks Future Plans, Labels and more in Exclusive Interview
Posted by Middy on February 20, 2014
17 year old French progressive / trance producer Matt Fax has been making a name for himself with his soothing, progressive trance sound that has labels and artists clamoring for him to remix their tunes. At the tender age of 16 he was the youngest ever guest mixer on Above & Beyond’s syndicated radio show “Group Therapy” that reaches 20 million people a week worldwide.
I think age is too often used as a marketing strategy for DJs and artists when they are young, but in the case of Matt Fax it is relevant to dwell on for a moment because he has already accomplished so much for his age, having started his career at 13. His tunes have been supported by the likes of Armin, Above & Beyond, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten and many others. His tracks have been released by all of the labels he could ask for like Anjunabeats, Armada, Black Hole and more. His career is only going to get bigger and better as time goes on and we got to chat with the Frenchman about his time as a label head, future plans and much more. Read on for the interview.

Katy Perry’s “Prism” did ridiculous in terms of sales, with 286,000 flying off the shelves in the first week and 557,024 first week sales for “Roar” in the lead up to the album. “Dark Horse” is the latest tune to go number one. The original beat is hot fire, Dr. Luke, Max Martin & Cirkut did work on the original, but have you been looking for way to try and give it a refresher in your playlists? Dutchman Jaz von D is the man of the hour, adding a progressive flare to the tune with a rolling, growling electro bass line. Best of all, the remix is free.

Live City have built a solid reputation on more melodic and hard electro tunes, dating back to their debut EPs. With this remix however, they flip the script, going for something groovier and more minimal, as they describe “to make you dance”. The take the funky original from Groove Armada and inject their own energy with some cowbell and a more upbeat bass line. Grab the freebee below.

Progressive House | Vlad Lucan – Let The Good Times Roll
Posted by Middy on February 18, 2014
Vlad Lucan who got his start producing hip hop and pop hits in Romania, recently turned his production talents to dance music. His remix last summer of YesYou ft. Marcus Azon “Frivolous Life” became a fast favorite of mine, and he brings a similar sound to this original. It may be still winter and there’s 3 feet of snow in my front yard, but that does not mean we can’t gear up for warmer temperatures with summery tunes like this one. The classic sample from Earl King gives the tune a feel good vibe accompanied by Vlad’s cheery, melodic, synth chords. It’s yours for free, so get it now.
