Progressive House | Adventure Club – Wonder (The Chainsmokers Remix) [Preview]
Posted by Mel on March 27, 2014
It wouldn’t be a couple weeks since the last remix by The Chainsmokers without a new remix by The Chainsmokers. Adventure Club’s “Wonder” is what the boys put their own spin on this time and they went with a more upbeat progressive feel for it. It’s an official remix and will be available April 29th on iTunes.
Progressive House | Syndec – Riptide
Posted by Mel on March 25, 2014
I am well aware that vocals on a progressive house track are straight ballin and what most people prefer but once in a while it’s nice to hear one without. When there’s no vocals it allows you to truly listen to the music instead of being focused on the singer’s voice. Syndec is an eighteen year old Swedish producer and he managed to do with “Riptide” what most progressive house producers cannot when it comes to making a non vocal track, keep it interesting. The song is driven by an excellent light melody and is structured in a way that it does not get boring.

Electronic | Nightcall ft. Dreamhour – Dead V (Vocal Version)
Posted by Mel on March 25, 2014
A lot of the time there are songs that you can put on and then go prep a stew or caress the face of a child and you will still be able to appreciate it. That is not the case with this song. This song deserves your full attention. Nightcall is a Swedish producer of cinematic electronic music and recently released a vocal version of his awesome “Dead V”. The original was musically outstanding and the vocals just push it over the top.

Progressive House | The Chainsmokers – #SELFIE (Elephante Remix)
Posted by Mel on March 24, 2014
The commercial success of “#SELFIE” has spawned numerous remakes/covers/edits/remixes and they are almost all terrible. Elephante decided to completely rework the song into a progressive version and it actually turned out quite well. I can’t honestly say I have any desire to listen to the original other than when I come across it naturally in my day to day life but I do have that desire for this version.

Electro-House | Riggi & Piros – WOW
Posted by Mel on March 24, 2014
When Lizzie McGuire kissed Gordo on top of that hotel roof in Rome in the Lizzie McGuire movie I just lost it. It was so obvious he was crushing hard and to see him finally toss it in there made my bros and I all very happy. The feeling of surprise Gordo must have felt in that moment is what I feel right now as I write a post for a big room track. Riggi & Piros are among the upper echelon of the (thankfully dying) big room sound and have decided to give away a track for free. It is titled “WOW” and has the worst cover art I have ever seen. I don’t know what they were going for but it is not erotic in the slightest. As far as the song goes, it’s largely typical big room stuff. It is also good though. I dislike big room but Riggi & Piros have managed to momentarily convince me otherwise.

Progressive House | Eric Prydz – Liberate

Everybody knows that Eric Prydz is awesome and almost every track of his is amazing. Typically, he releases his progressive house songs under the Pryda moniker. His real name is reserved for only the best of the best and this is one of them. My good pal and long time lover Middy has already given you the summertime metaphor when he posted the preview a while back so you should know what the song entails by now. Summertime, pretty much. This is progressive house at its finest.

Progressive House | Kaskade & Thomas Sagstad vs. Morning Parade – Under The Stars
Posted by Mel on March 20, 2014
Roughly six months ago I messaged a Swedish producer by the name of Thomas Sagstad and asked what he was planning to do with his remix of Morning Parade’s “Under The Stars”, of which had been sitting on his Soundcloud for months with no signs of an impending release. “Long story boss, but I may still do something with it. We’ll see” is what he replied before sending me a copy of it. Having known all this, it came as quite the surprise when I saw that Kaskade’s name was also on it and it is just now being released as a free download. I have listened to the original remix many times and this collaborative one multiple times as well and can tell you that this remix is about 80% Thomas Sagstad’s. The main melody and most of the chords are his. With that said, this version is better. Kaskade has changed the structure slightly as well as given the song, and especially the build more energy. The mix is also significantly better here. This release has been a long time in the making but it’s finally out.
