Albums, Hip-Hop | Hoodie Allen – All American (EP)
Posted by dshaq on April 9, 2012

How can one not root for Hoodie Allen? The man graduated from UPENN, worked for google, and yet he decided to drop his seemingly set lifestyle to pursue his dream of making music. This is the first we’ve heard of Hoodie since his awesome mixtape from last year, Leap Year, and it goes above and beyond anything I thought. What makes Hoodie so appealing as an artist is not only his catchy beats and choruses, it’s his wordplay. To me, he is up there with Danny Brown and Das Racist(KOOL A.D. & HEEMS) as one the wittiest rappers out right now. It seems as if the mans brain is just one big encyclopedia of pop culture references. His style is so carefree and fun and it just makes us crave more and more of this New Yorker. Since Hoodie is truly the nicest guy in the bidness today(my opinion), he is taking time out of his day to personally call each person who buys the EP to thank them for their contribution and support, if you don’t believe me check this out. So if you want to talk to Hoodie or just support good music and a guy who deserves some respect and acknowledgment, I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU BUY THIS. Hoodie congrats!
Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Casey Veggies – Customized Greatly 3 (Mixtape)
Posted by dshaq on April 9, 2012

Casey Veggies’ growth as an artist has been evident through his various releases. CG3 is a great example of it. Just last year while in attendance at a Mac Miller concert, I got to see Young Veggies open for Mr. McCormick. Although I wasn’t that well versed in Casey’s music then, he commanded the stage and provided the crowd with some good tunes, which assured me that he has the potential to be a truly great rapper. After his first album, Sleeping In Class, Casey brings us this brand new project. Phenomenal beats mixed with great flows keep us focused throughout the project, anticipating the next song. My standout tracks would be Customized Greatly, PNCINTLOFWGKTA, Get That $, and Thoughts Weigh. Peep and download the tape below.

Posted by dshaq on April 9, 2012
Double Vision releases part three of their music marathon today, and is it a good one. What they do a great job of is mixing the pop and hip hop sounds to create their form of hip-pop. The last and final leg is next Monday so if you’re missing any of the other EP’s, I suggest you check them out. Make sure to hit them up on Twitter and Facebook below and look back next Monday! #RunWith2XV
Electro | Basic Physics – Island of Gold
Posted by dshaq on April 5, 2012

Now I’m lingering away from my hip-hop roots by posting electro, but it was pretty easy to distinguish this track as a banger, and that it had to go up. Basic Physics takes the likes of Thomas Gold, Pendulum, R3hab and Swanky Tunes, and others, and works his magic to provide us with this gem. Great transitions, good buildups, dirty drops, what’s not to like about this. Scoop the track and be on the lookout for more Basic Physics.
Hip-Hop, Videos | Aer – Wonderin’ Why (Video)
Posted by dshaq on April 3, 2012
The ridiculousy catchy and refreshing duo of Aer give us some brand new visuals to start off the day. From their new EP, they provide us with some whimsical visuals to the catchy song. Expect more visuals from the duo but also expect an album sometime in the future. If you missed FNT’s interview with Aer, you can check that out here.

Hip-Hop | Eddy B & Tim Gunter – Tomorrow
Posted by dshaq on April 1, 2012

Another Eddy B & Tim Gunter song, another great beat and good rhymes. This song has a much different feel compared to their usual upbeat bangers. This song is about Eddy growing up and facing some obstacles to get where he is today. These guys have been on their grind lately releasing single after single, so peep this track and show them some love over their Facebook page.
