Electro | Hardwell’s Collaboration With Armin Van Buuren Is “Off The Hook”
Posted by Juicebox on September 16, 2015
It’s not often that two of dance music’s biggest and best artists come together for a song, but when they do, it is sure to be massive. While a collaboration between Hardwell and Armin Van Buuren might have broken the Internet last year, the two dance music titans have finally put their heads together to deliver their latest main stage monster, “Off The Hook.” First played by Hardwell at Ultra Music Festival, “Off The Hook” combines the best of both producers, as the Revealed Recordings boss lays down a gritty, electro bass line, while Armin infuses the track with his trademark, up-tempo trance. You can get “Off The Hook” on Beatport here.
House | Justin Jay Finally Delivers His Mom, I Graduated! EP
Posted by Juicebox on September 15, 2015
As a Trojan, it always makes my day to see another member of the Trojan family succeed, and as a blogger, it’s in my civic (collegiate?) duty to support any fellow Trojans in their endeavors. Justin Jay was, by no means, an unknown when he was an undergraduate student at USC, considering his first-ever dirtybird release came his freshman year after he sent a demo to Claude VonStroke himself. Now, four years later and diploma in hand, Justin Jay is bringing it back to the imprint that started it all for him with his Mom, I Graduated EP. The young phenom unveiled the lead single off of the EP, “Hit It,” a few weeks ago, but now, he’s showing off another underground weapon in “Rain Dance.” Tribal influenced synths drive the track through twists and turns of bubbling bass lines and groove-driven melodies, and Jay even pushes his comfort zone by sampling his own voice for the first time ever on a track. The full EP is out now on Beatport, so don’t sleep on it!
Deep House | EDX Remixes Robin Schulz’ “Sugar” With “Ibiza Sunrise” Vibes
Posted by Juicebox on September 14, 2015
Remember Baby Bash’s “Suga Suga”? Well, it’s been revived by Robin Schulz and Francesco Yates as a cover titled, “Sugar,” and the Italian-born star, EDX, has lent his talent to it for one of his sought-after “Ibiza Sunrise” remixes. EDX has merged his signature club-ready deep house sound with the original’s vocals and guitar licks for a transformation that’s worthy of many listens and playlist adds. In the midst of this release, EDX is prepping for the release of his next original, “Belong,” as he continues on the road with his North American tour. Check out his remix of “Sugar” above and buy it on iTunes or Beatport, and stream it over on Spotify.
