Two huge releases in this package from French producer DJ Snake. We already previewed “Bird Machine,” a cool as hell track with Alesia that’s seen playtime from Dillon Francis, Knife Party, Flosstradamus, and Baauer. The defining feature? You guessed it — bird whistles in lieu of more traditional synth leads. This track is quite honestly going to be everywhere in about five minutes so take my advice and jump on it now. Rounding out the package is “Together,” which flirts with hardstyle before delivering a big, bouncy trap drop. The two seemingly disparate styles work surprising well together and bring serious energy. “Bird Machine” and “Together” are both out now (for free!) on Mad Decent’s Jeffree’s imprint — snag the free DL below.

Dubstep | Röyskopp & Susanne Sundfor – Running To The Sea (Protohype & Carnage Remix)

It takes something special for a dubstep track to really catch my ear and make me want to post it and this remix of Röyskopp & Susanne Sundfor’s recent single “Running To The Sea” has done just that. Protohype has been slowly building a name for himself with a steady output of electro and dubstep tracks over the past few years and Carnage has been a name people have really turned onto with his recent trap remixes, though he has a more diverse discography then just trap. This melodic dubstep remix starts smooth with the etheral vocals from Susanne Sundfor and soft piano and then drops into a 2 step dubstep breakdown with a grinding low end and alternating bass line mixed in. Do not sleep on either of these producers and especially not this track.

Trap | Carnage & Borgore – Incredible (Knuckle Children & Ruka Remix)

The Milwaukee trio, Knuckle Children, are back with fellow Milwaukee producer Ruka to drop a huge trap bootleg to Carnage and Borgore’s “Incredible”. Middy posting trap? Well regardless of your thoughts on whether or not it is a gimmick or not, trap is here to stay and you better get with it. Trap songs that just take a track and add a few samples from run of the mill sample trap run kit in 10 minutes deserve little attention, however those that actually mold the trap instrumentals into the track and work with the sounds of the original track like what Aylen has done move forward the experiment of what is going on with the current direction of trap (I know it is not new). Aylen combines the grungy electro low end from the original with blistering high hats and snares, molding the trapped instrumentals into the framework of the original.

NYC-based producer the R.O.A.R. stands at the intersection of rock and moombahton — and it’s a combination that works better than you think. His newest track, “The Touchdown,” melds the wobbly funk of moombahton with some hard-edged vocals and driving drum kicks for a result that’s high energy and sure to get you moving. I’m a huge “repeat-one whore” and this song as brought out the worst of it in me. A friend sent this over to me a few days ago and I’ve been blasting it ever since. Honestly, I’ve been pretty against the whole trap movement recently but S-Preme’s flow is too nasty to not love this track.
