Black Butter Records is home to many insanely talented artists like Gorgon City, Kidnap Kid, Rudimental, Clean Bandit, My Nu Leng, and many more. The UK imprint threw a party last month with MATTE, a creative production company, to get the festival season started off right, and I don’t know if it’s the black and white or the tribal-esque track to the video but its clear that these British music titans know how to throw a party. The lineup was overflowing with killer talent. From Kidnap Kid to Jessie Andrews to a special guest appearance by THE GASLIGHT KILLER, attendees were not shorted of high-caliber DJs and the recap video is just a testament to exactly that. Check it out and be sure to be on the look out for the next Black Butter Records party that pop-ups.

Tomorrowland’s sister festival, TomorrowWorld, made history in 2014 with a lineup consisting of the world’s top DJ/producers that took to the Chattahoochee hills for three days of madness. One spectacle at TomorrowWorld was definitely the Dim Mak x Smash the House stage where Dim Mak returned for their second edition of the stage. Boasting a lineup of Wolfpack, Borgore, 3LAU, 3 Are Legend, and many more, the Dim Mak crew released the second part of their Dim Mak Invasion recap series to shine light on the insanity that the label’s artists delivered. Check out Part 2 of Dim Mak Invades TomorrowWorld 2014 above and watch part 1 here. One of America’s newest festivals, TomorrowWorld, brought the mystical experience from its Belgian counterpart, Tomorrowland, to Georgia, maintaining its elite reputation. Boasting a lineup with too many star DJ/producers to handle, the festival made sure that its 2nd edition would be one to remember to close out 2014. Skrillex’s OWSLA stage flew in names like Alvin Risk, Foreign Beggars, and Yogi to rock the festival grounds for a day of some quality dance music. Recently, OWSLA released a recap video of the stage and Skrillex’s main stage set. It’s safe to say that it made me want to book my tickets immediately. Between the magical atmosphere and madness directed by Skrillex’s family, the recap video shows off a simply good time. Check out the video below and if you’re bold enough, grab your tickets for TomorrowWorld 2015 here.

Featured, Review | THESE ARE THE BEST THINGS I HEARD IN 2013 | SINCERELY, MIMADA

YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT IT IS.

All the music that I listened to throughout the last 12 months enough to make me sick but somehow didn’t. The fields of music brought a bountiful yield in 2013 which allowed listeners like me to tune into more genres and artists than I could ever imagine. In order to cover all my necessary bases, I’ve drafted quite a comprehensive list (or two) missing prety much only anything Jennifer Lawrence related although if all the things she said this year were songs then they would 100% have made it on my list as well.

So, let the countdown, BEGIN!

Events, Home, Review, Videos | Aokify America: Steve Aoki x Borgore x Waka Flocka Flame (Recap)

Posted by on November 21, 2013

The title says it all – Dim Mak hooked FNT up with passes so that we could cover the show. Steve Aoki, Borgore, and Waka Flocka made a dream team on Saturday night at the Bill Graham Civic Center in San Francisco, and they put on one hell of a show. Check out the media gallery below (especially the POV recap video), and make sure to check out the rest of the tour’s stops before you miss it altogether here.

To give you a better picture of what the concert was like, keep in mind that the show was somehow sold out (it was at the Civic Center in San Francisco, imagine how many people it takes to sell out a concert there). Borgore had an incredible opening set, playing his classics as you’d expect (e.g. Nympho). But, he surprised everyone towards the end of his set when he started dropping some unheard trap and moombahton – some HEAVY trap and moombahton I might add. By this point, everyone was completely riled up – but it doesn’t stop there because just when it seemed like a peak, Borgore brought out Waka Flocka who yelled an entire verse to a wild audience.

But hold up – Steve Aoki starts his set at this point. Mind-blowing is an understatement. Between his stage dives, cake throws, bottle pops, and raft rides, Steve Aoki slapped his bangers so hard that his dad’s restaurants almost went out of business (his dad owns Benihana’s). He played every song that you would wish he would play live. And he killed all of them.

Moral of the story is, if you didn’t go, you missed out. Put Aoki on the bucket list.

Videos | Na Palm – Revival Road Tour Video Recap

Posted by on May 15, 2013

If you couldn’t guess, Na Palm is one crazy dude. I’ve been lucky enough to see Nay live in Colorado and he brings more energy to the stage than most artists I’ve seen. He sent me an email with a tour recap video and I was super excited to see what this video had in store for me. As expected, the video is packed with wild footage of life on the road with Na Palm, his crazy fans and live footage from his recent shows. Make sure to keep an eye out for his new EP dropping soon and check out the insane line-up for the Spring Awakening Festival in Chicago (including Na Palm)!
