Albums | The sound of pure joy, mixed in with a bit of nostalgia comes out via 44 Ardent’s “evergreen”

Posted by on October 1, 2023

Over the last few months, 44 Ardent has given us a tidy collection of five stand-alone singles that has had him experimenting with a variety of different sounds and ideas as he continues to explore ways to capture certain feelings or emotions within his production. He’s coming back to us this week with his next offering ‘evergreen’, which you can check out above and read more about below:

“evergreen’ is meant to sound like pure joy, mixed in with a bit of nostalgia. I wanted to capture the feeling of running around in the forest as a child, or going on a hike with your friends, or a road-trip to a quiet beach. This wasn’t actually the song I was planning to put out next, I only came up with the piano riff about a week ago. The rest of the song came so easily and naturally, so I decided to put it out straight away rather than spending ages agonising over tiny mix details. Sometimes it’s better to just go with your original idea rather than overthinking..” – 44 Ardent

Albums | Daya Releases “Love You When You’re Gone” Ahead of New Album

Posted by on August 15, 2022

indie rock meets pop on “Love You When I’m Gone” by GRAMMY® Award-winning, multi-platinum certified singer-songwriter, Daya. Her single opens up about the fascinating duality of missing someone when they’re out of your life yet being uncertain whether you miss the actual person or merely the comfort of their presence, according to the Los Angeles based artist. Check out a quote from Daya on the release below now and stream “Love You When You’re Gone” above right now!

“I found myself romanticizing a past relationship in a way that was almost willfully forgetting the reality of why it didn’t work out in the end. I realized part of the reason I was holding on to the relationship for so long was because I was scared to face who I’d be and what my life would be like without it, and so it’s about trying to let all that go and give myself the space and freedom to grow on my own.”

Alternative, Pop | Gillian Heidi Releases Powerful Single, “Waves”

Posted by on May 2, 2021

Rising Boston-based Pop singer/songwriter Gillian is back with her third single of 2021 via “waves”. The emotional ballad once again shows off her songwriting and melody creating skillset, proving she is a Pop artist to keep an eye on this year. For fans of Taylor Swift, Alessia Cara, and Olivia Rodrigo. Check out a quote from her on the release below and stream “Waves” above now!

“I wrote waves at the end of eighth grade, when I started to realize that everything was changing. I had recently switched schools, and I was about to start high school. I had this overwhelming feeling of realizing that I wasn’t a kid anymore. Instead, my life was now plagued with worry about tests and relationships and things that, in the long run, don’t really matter. Waves was a moment of realization for me- I was growing up. My life was no longer focused on fun and fairytales, and I was nostalgic for a simpler, easier time. Waves captures a feeling of nostalgia and pain, wishing you would’ve cherished simplistic times when they existed and wondering how you ended up where you are.” – Gillian Heidi

Chill | A&G Return With Chill Cover of Drake’s “Too Good”

Posted by on November 15, 2016

I remember A&G back in the day, this duo slayed it with their catchy powerful house remixes that still give me nostalgia chills to this day. I was curious about what happened to them, they sort off fell off the map, but now are back – so what happened in-between?

Sadly one of the brothers received the news that cancer was found, so a more than expected break was taken as they figured out what they both should do next.

The battle is still on, but dance music is more important to these two, A&G have dropped their first release since then, a remix of Drake”s “Too Good” a chill remix that fits with the times and is definitely fire.

House, Trap | Wave Racer – Streamers

Wave Racer
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Oh, hello there. You seemed to have caught me dancing. Well, that was embarrassing. Anyways, let me start this post off by saying the nostalgia is strong with this one. Waveracer is back with his new “Streamers” original that’s out on Future Classic February 7th. Listening to “Streamers” is the equivalent of trying to beat your high score on Flappy Bird while driving in a car on the way home from work… while on acid. It’s just plain nuts. Wave Racer. Streamers. Future Classic. February 7th. Flint-Michgan Mega Bowl… Flint-Michigan Mega Bowl!

Nearly 2 years ago one of our writers, W8, introduced me to a very dope and underrated artist that is CJ Trillo. Ever since then, I’ve kept CJ projects in heavy rotation due to his pure lyrical originality and smooth productions, which are for the most part created by his right hand man, Jim IE. Today he released his fourth project, Volume 1: Nostalgia. CJ said that this project is everything in him that he’s wanted to release, but was always too self-conscious to in the past. He’s finally reached the point in his artistic career where he’s grown past the concern of how other people view him. With that being said, he has finally allowed himself to vocalize and create all the ideas and vibes he’s wanted to since he first started rapping back in 2009. Listen and download the full project below and get to know CJ in this recent interview about Volume 1: Nostalgia.
