Drum & Bass | Drum & Bass Friday

Posted by on June 29, 2012

UKF is known for having not the best in Drum & Bass, but I have to say this remix from Friction sounds awesome. It has great chilled out vibes, with some heavy bass thrown in but more to compliment the track not over power the vocals, kicks, and snare. Just an awesome dance/lounge Drum & Bass tune. It releases September 17th this year.

This next track is the gem of this weeks Drum & Bass Friday. Ragga Jungle, this heavy vocalized tune is perfect. The context of the track is a little sad, but still a work of art. This is the first release off the Curfew Love Riddim.

Wow, this is an incredible Drum & Bass remix of BT. I was shocked when I found out how little people have heard of BT or have even heard any of his work. His original works are great, but his tracks are some of the best to remix.

This track reminds me a bit of Haywyre, due to the use of the Razor style. It a cool sound for sure and now getting to here it in a Drum & Bass setting, I now see many more great uses to the Razor style. Cool and Creative track from Fryonic.

I have never heard a Grimy Drum & Bass tune like this before. It almost sounds as if this is a blend of Garage, Grime, and Drum & Bass. Not sure how other will feel about this track, but I am definitely feeling this new blending.

This is a heavy factory Drum & Bass tune. Listening to it make me think of old Russian warehouses being broken into and holding massive raves. With support of Dieselboy, The Upbeats destroyed this MSTRKRFT track. Big tune.

Events | Electric Zoo: Day 1

Posted by on September 3, 2011

Although things started off slowly, I forgot this isn’t the west coast where Fridays are optional, by seven o’clock the Electric Zoo fields and stages were flooded with raging fans. Getting there early wasn’t such a bad move, mind you, since we were able to familiarize ourselves with the various stages, their media pits, and of course, the food and beverage tents. The Four stages of EDM fury featured Tiesto, Moby, Benassi, MSTRKRFT, Rusko, Robbie Rivera, and several other mind blowing acts. The next two days look equally impressive, bringing in the likes of Skrillex, Above and Beyond, and Guetta for Sat and Armin, Afrojack, Calvin Harris, and Alesso to name a few. Don’t worry, if you haven’t picked up a pair of tickets yet, you can still come join us out there by purchasing passes HERE.

Electro | Usher – Love In This Club (MSTRKRFT Remix) | Electro

Posted by on March 23, 2011

MSTRKRFT, a Canadian electro/punk/rap duo hailing from Ontario, seemingly blended their signature style with that of Wolfgang’s Illmerica to produce a completely new banging take on this Usher track. The strumming electro bass-guistarish synths are such a dope touch, more artists should toy with that sound.

Note: We realize this track is 3 years old, just a quality song.

House | Laidback Luke Essential Mix 2/19/2011 | HOUSE

Posted by on February 22, 2011

Laidback Luke brings his us another essential mix after dropping his last one all the way back in 2008. This mix is too sick featuring some classic tracks as well as some party heaters, including my personal favorite, Wynter Gordon’s Dirty Talk (Laidback Luke Remix).

Albums, Dubstep, Electro | The Bloody Beetroots, Dan Sena, Callum B, Liquid Strangers | ELECTRO & DUBSTEP

Posted by on February 2, 2011

The Bloody Beetroots have squeezed 18 of their best remixes into one album–set to release on Valentine’s Day. Best Of…Remixes will feature The Chemical Brothers, MSTRKRFT and many others. For the past three years, The Bloody Beetroots have pleased the ears of electronic music lovers. I’m sort of thankful this compilation is dropping on the 14th (my girlfriends and I will most definitely play the album, in all of its “historical” glory, before going out). Cheers to being single!

If you like Skrillex (and I’m sure you do) you will most definitely enjoy this track. Skip to 3:20 for the filth.

We’ve posted a few filty Grum remixes in the past, but never featured any official Grum tracks. After dropping his mixtape in April, the French Disco-Electro DJ caught more than a few eyes and for good reason. I’m all over the “Heartbeats” song posted below, it’s simple yet powerful.

MUST DOWNLOAD: Grum – Heartbeats FILTHY
DOWNLOAD: Grum – Cant Shake This Feeling

How could we not showcase an indie electronic band hailing from one of our hubs? This Dallas, Texas dance rock group draws from artists such as Cut Copy, Justice, MSTRKRFT, and a few other FNT favs to produce a dynamic sound that mixes groovy dance beats with catchy vocals. It would be a sin to pass up their rendition of Rick James’ “Give It To Me Baby”.

MUST DOWNLOAD: Rick James – Give It To Me Baby (Glasnost Remix)
Download: Yeasayer – O.N.E. (Glasnost Remix)

Here are two additional noteworthy Electro tracks:
Download: The Good Natured – Your Body Is A Machine (Baby Monster Remix)
Download: Ellie Goulding – Guns And Horses (Tonka Remix)

Bonus Rap:
Mark Morrison feat. Warren G – B’day FIRE
Young Riot – So Wavy (Main) Remix of Salt n Peppers hit – DOPE
Red Cafe – Seen Money feat Akon

UPDATE: Earlier this week I tried to post the song below, but linked it to the wrong track, sorry. This one is for our dubstep fans.
