Want piano, drums, gospel singing, a little Mike Posner and slamming rap verses. Yes, one please. Bei Maejor’s newest drop “They Call Me” lays down verses with a melange of classic instrumentals intermingling with dope verses. The best part? There is variety, I don’t think I can take another rap song thats just repeat, repeat, repeat. It’s music….not shampoo. For this week’s Throwback Thursday we have a few timeless jams that should definitely set your weekend in the right direction. The first is off Big Sean’s mixtape Finally Famous Vol. 3 featuring Chiddy Bang. Sean absolutely murders his first two verses in this track about coping with the downsides of fame.

Here’s a track from a close counterpart of Big Sean’s who rose to stardom thanks to music blogs. With a sample from E.L.O.’s Evil Woman, Posner couldn’t go wrong with this one. I think I speak for a majority of people when I say that I wish Mike still made songs like this.

I wanted to crash my car when I saw a Mike Posner & Rusko collaboration come up on Twitter, but after giving it a listen, there’s no denying it’s a sick track. Rusko brings his classic vibe with pretty much identical vocal effects featured in Da Cali Anthem. Posner’s voice is a perfect match for this beat and his lyrics give the song that mainstream appeal that will still entice those high school girls Posner loves and relies on so much. Bottom line…Rusko sold out with this one.

Gigamesh took the scene by storm with his 2009 remix of Mike Posner’s hit “Cooler Than Me”. Ironically, Gigamesh’s touch made it so much cooler than the original that it stole most airwaves. Although Gigamesh slipped out of the limelight, he’s still been producing some epic remixes like the two below (plus the previously posted bangers). These two tracks are straight up BANGERS. Don’t let the Mike Posner name turn you off (almost skipped over this one) because Dave Edwards, who you might remember did a filthy Dancing With The DJ remix, completely flips this track. Like his page on Facebook for instant updates and releases. In this second track, German duo Dabruck & Klein transform Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” into an upbeat electronic jam that’ll keep you going for days. I posted a track of Aer’s about a week back. As I said before they bring a nice reggae vibe to the hip-hop scene. They dropped this video a few days ago, given the production isn’t up to par of artist like Mike Posner (unless your watching “Bow Chica Wow Wow”). This is still a great track, these guys deserve big respect on it.

I am never disappointed by what Zion I releases. The verses on this track are FIRE and I’m really feeling this beat.

Not going to lie, I never liked Mike Posner. This just blew my mind. This may have been an original track of Adele, but I seriously have to give him a round of applause for making this sound like his own. It’s INCREDIBLE.
