Moombahton | Major Lazer – Original Don Ft. The Partysquad

Posted by on October 14, 2011

About time the duo, Switch and Diplo, released something new for Major Lazer. Of course the guys had to dress up Mad Men’s Don Draper in the Major Lazer attire. Moombahton and reggae were meant to be blended this way. I am not the biggest Major Lazer fan, but the tracks I do like, deserve recognition. The duo has announced that this track will be featured with a few more on their new EP, dropping November 1st.

The latest track from Mr. Rodgers is a huge party mix to David Guetta and Afrojack’s remix of Sweat. There are 12 different songs in this monster, including heaters from Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Twista, Enrique Iglesias, Fatman Scoop, Ariez Onasis, Soulja Boy, Roscoe Dash, Rick Ross, Ludacris and Major Lazer. Now this is what I call an epic mashup. Follow Mr. Rodgers on Twitter.

Events, Review | Global Dance Festival Recap

Posted by on August 18, 2011

The other weekend, Global Dance Festival continued its reign as one of the most epic festivals in Colorado. Thursday featured an eclectic mix of big names, from Kid Cudi’s greened-out stage setup to our very own Sam Adams, bringing in a ratio that could get Stephen Hawking laid. Empire of the Sun played a sick set with some very interesting costumes. Friday gave us the chance to interview Nero after an awe-inspiring set, dropping absolute bombs on the unprepared Red Rocks crowd (peep the FNT hats we got signed here)…and of course Skrillex’s got the audience going absolutely crazy….

Every once in a while you just need some solid “feel good” reggae tracks to brighten up your cold and rainy day, which is exactly why I did a thorough search of both my itunes library and the internet to find the remixes below. Hopefully a few of these will place you in a trouble-free daze.

Here are two unique Riddim remixes that will surely catch your ear. Note: a “Riddim” is an instrumental version of a song that mainly utilizes drum and bass-line “Jamaican” sounds.
Download: Collie Buddz – She Gimme Love (Paradise Riddim)
Download: Collie Buddz – Tear drop (Dark Cloud Riddim)

And what would a post like this be without a nice Dubstep remix (get used to these) and a solid mashup?

Here are some additional generic but still gnarly remixes:
Sean Kingston – Beautiful Girls (Collie Buddz Remix)
Major Lazer, Lindi Ortega, and Collie Buddz – Good Enough
Consequence – Blind To You ft. Collie Buddz
Collie Buddz – Come Around (G-Unit Remix)
