The summer season is here, and it has yet another anthem candidate on its hands. This time it comes from Pittsburgh, from a young man by the name of Steve James. You may have heard of him; his ZHU “Faded” remix has amassed over a million plays, his Ellie Goulding “Beating Heart” remix has been played on Tiësto’s Club Life, and his free downloads have spread like wild fire. His new gem is a remix for The Chainsmokers’, “Let You Go.”
The original was by no means a slouch, but this young producer has imparted some of his youth upon the track, making for a notably livelier vibe. Really we wouldn’t doubt if this thing starts making the rounds on festival stages and summer mixes around the world. It doesn’t hurt that it’s a freebie. One of my favorite upcoming acts The Golden Pony have remixed “Let You Go” by The Chainsmokers and did a fantastic job. This high energy bouncy house track is the perfect way to start you week. In the the revised Golden Pony edition, they have taken the traditional song and turned into a Deep House groovy track that you just want to hear on repeat. These guys continue to smash every single remix they are given, so its easy to see why everyone wants a the “Golden” touch per say. Stream and enjoy!

At just 22 years old Thero has already made a pretty impressive name for himself. The New York City based producer took the #1 remix and #2 track awards on Hype Machine not to long ago, and with tracks like this one hes making it obvious how he earned the titles. His newest remix takes The Chainsmokers’ “Let You Go” and turns it into a tropical grooving masterpiece that goes down so smooth you won’t believe it. The vocals, provided by Great Good Fine Ok, are accompanied with the perfect baseline to make this one of those tracks you can throw on your headphones and just groove out to. Then add in a little finger snap and some of Thero’s signature tropical elements and the remix is taken to the next level. Check the track out and if you like it be sure to show this guy some love. The Chainsmokers released their single ‘Let You Go’ about one month ago and has picked up some great traction since then. This also happens to be their first single that doesn’t reference pop culture so we’re definitely excited to see them going in this fresh direction. They recently went live with their official music video for the song and it filled with some great surprises. I’m not one to spoil a good ending so you’ll have to see it for yourself!
