Compilation, House, Interviews, Review, Videos | Jaytech Interview + Anjunadeep Vol 4
Posted by Middy on February 27, 2012
We have a lot for you in this post. We have an exclusive interview with the Australian Dj / producer, James Cayzer, better known as Jaytech, one of the mixers on Anjunedeep Volume 4, which just released today, as well as an exclusive download of one of Jaytech’s more popular songs “Djembe”. As Jaytech explains in the interview, Anjunadeep is the sister label of Anjunabeats, the label run by the trance super group Above & Beyond. Anjuandeep deals with everything melodic house and this can be seen on this mix compilation. The first CD was mixed by James Grant and the second was mixed by Jaytech. The first CD has more of a techy, deep house feel with some great groovy tracks from guys like Tom Middleton (no relation to me), Andrew Bayer, Dusky and more. There are old releases and new including Andrew Bayer & James Grant’s remix of Above & Beyond – Prelude, Two songs from Dusky, Andrew Bayer – You and many more.
The second CD is more of the melodic house signature of Anjunadeep with some heavy trance influences in some of the songs. The second CD is chock full of quality tracks from Solarity, Suspect 44 and their uplifting track “Neon Feel”, Oliver Smith, Andrew Bayer and more. Jaytech premiers some new tracks on here with “Synergy” and “Atlantic”. The entire compilation send us on a journey of sounds and emotions with the music through a variety of tech, deep, and melodic house songs with different sounds and styles from groovy and funky rhythms to songs with more trance influences. This compilation has something for everyone who likes EDM and after the jump check out the interview with Jaytech that has been in the works for a while but just came to fruition. Also below are two mix previews, buy links, social media links, and the exclusive song from Jaytech, “Djembe”.

DJ-Set, Electro-House, Progressive House | Sebastian Ingrosso – Refune Radio Episode #01
Posted by Middy on January 26, 2012
We usually do not post podcasts of artists here, but this one from Sebastian Ingrosso is too good not to. The first episode of what should be soon one of the top podcasts around, Sebastian Ingrosso plays numerous tracks from his label, Refune Records, as well as unreleased tracks such as the anthemic masterpiece from Ivan Gough, Feenixpawl and Georgi Kay “In My Mind”, Otto Knows’ Million Voices, which now has a release date of FEBRUARY 8th and a new track from Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello AND Alesso (See video above). Ingrosso puts together a podcast not only with new tracks, but also some classics and tracks he has been playing recently that have been working really well for him out. Dirty South calls in to play “Eyes Wide Open” and we will be hearing gossip about Djs around the world next episode, as well as the vocal version “Calling”, so make sure to tune in next month. Tracklist after the jump.

Videos | Mike Posner ft. Blackbear – Stay Schemin’ (Cover)
Posted by GMONEY on January 15, 2012
This is what I’m talking about. I’m not even a Mike Posner fan. This is pure genius. Even though we love to pick on various artists in the industry, there’s a reason why they’re signed and others are not. This is why Mike Posner is signed to a major label. He’s pure talent, he’s got a great beard, and he’s got the vocal range of a high school girl who uploads her covers to Youtube. He’s really the triple threat-and shows it by covering Rick Ross’s “Stay Schemin” off his recent “Rich Forever” mixtape featuring Drake and French Montana. As a bonus, I’ve included the original track as well as the cover mp3.

Dubstep | Coven – Wake You Up EP
Posted by Mach on December 23, 2011
I will start out by saying I am disappointed in Skrillex’s new EP, but you can’t blame the guy. He is obviously just fulfilling what is left of his contract with Big Beat and saving his good tracks for his own label. Coven on the other hand dropped a shorter, but way better EP. Coven is a new artist to me, after I heard his official remix of Teknian’s Ruff. His style is interesting, unlike a lot of dubstep artists, it sounds like he really tried to make each track coincide with each other. He uses a heavier bass-line, but each track as a whole isn’t what you quite expect. Insect Flick is an incredible track. The others on the EP are also great, but this track really shows Coven’s artistic value to music. I also really like Roughmath’s remix on this EP, it’s nuts. All in all, Coven assembled a sick project.

TGCHU recently dropped these visuals for their track, Don’t Stop. When asked about upcoming projects, Will said that they’re finishing up both a mixtape and album. The mixtape should be out in December and the album will be out before the New Year. A new track with their label-mate Andy’s iLL will be out within the coming weeks to hold us over till December. If you’re feeling the track above head over to I-tunes and pick it up.
Electro | Afrojack – Lionheart
Posted by GMONEY on November 7, 2011

The newest release off his own record label, Wall Recordings, “Lionheart” by Afrojack is not for the weak of heart. Sick production work and that driving bass make this a perfect festival song. Gets crazy at 2:16. 3.25/5
