FYI | Will.I.Am ft. Chris Brown “Let’s Go” Steals Mat Zo & Arty’s Rebound
Posted by Middy on April 16, 2013
I was seriously debating on giving this song any pub at all because it deserves to be relegated to bottom of the music totem pole without anybody noticing. But that is the problem, nobody notices and nobody cares that such a great song from two of the best up and coming producers was so wantonly stolen by will.I.am and his band of merry writers. But why this one, Pitbull “samples” songs all the time, Flo Rida the same, it is really nothing new in this climate of heavy sampling in modern pop music. But, when big money is tossed around to shut people up and the threat of big label lawyers coming down on a “small time” artist like Arty or Mat Zo, they are almost surely going to settle on this, instead of facing the reality of going after Interscope and all of their legal might.
Anjunabeats DID NOT clear the sample so there is a case against will if they want to fight him. Maybe it was another producer who snuck this one in there, but I really don’t see how a large sample like this could have snuck by everyone at such a large label on a release as big as this. They either felt they could get away with this, or thought they could bully Mat Zo and Arty out of their own music. It remains to be seen if that will happen, but as the day continues, it seems as though a fight is brewing and there may be some high powered lawyers joining the side of Arty & Mat Zo. I can see exactly why Mat Zo deleted his twitter account yesterday because would have gone apesh*t on will.i.am. Stream both tracks to hear the obvious theft and then after the jump hear ANOTHER theft of Sandro Silva & Quintino’s “Epic”, which is sadly kind of old news by now because it has been done so many times.

After teasing fans with an April fools version of “I Choose U”, Cal and Rez treat their fans with a full length visual release, sans the goat. One of the perks of having a major label behind you is music videos with a budget. Pretty little extras, visual effects, dashboard hula dancers, you know – “the works”. Have you asked your female friends lately what they think of Timeflies? Do it. Chicks are in a frenzy over this electro-hip-pop powerhouse duo. “I Choose U” is just icing on the cake. Electro-House | Lazy Rich – Insomnia (Incl John Dahlback Remix)
Posted by Middy on March 7, 2013
Canadian Lazy Rich makes his return to Chris Lake’s Rising Music with a new single “Insomnia” tabbing the label head’s wife, Gita Lake for vocals. Gita Lake’s vocals accompany a smooth piano driven build that crescendoes into a vintage Lazy Rich drop with gritty low end synths and a thumping bass line. John Dahlback continues his high rate of production going into WMC with a solid remix of blaring bleeps and well timed electro growls.
Electro-House | Tiësto – Chasing Summers (R3hab & Quintino Remix)

Hot on the heals of Dyro’s remix of “Make Some Noise” and Sidney Samson’s collab with Martin Garrixx “Torrent“, Tiesto’s Musical Freedom unleashes another remix of the label bosses singles released on Club Life Volume 2. This remix hits hard right out of the gate, tossing aside the original brooding intro from Tiesto and adds their own heavier build that leads into a hard hitting, fast firing percussive drop, making it a more suitable remix for the festival stage. They then return to the melody crafted by Tiesto in the interlude and bring back that drop one last time.
House | Jeremy Olander – Let Me Feel
Posted by Middy on March 5, 2013
Pryda Friends protégé, Jeremy Olander makes his return to Eric Prydz’s revered label after releasing a few free tracks and making a stop over at Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records. “Let Me Feel” is another super progressive and melodic track from Jeremy Olander with a rolling bass line, a strong groove and an intoxicating melody of quick key strokes, piano and just the right amount of male vocals. Having shown off over a dozen unreleased tracks in his Frisky Radio mix a few months back, this single is just the tip of the iceberg of what we can expect to see from the Swedish producer in 2013. After the jump you can preview the Eric Prydz dub mix of “Let Me Feel” that is a more stripped back version of it. Because Miami is coming right up (we will have more previews soon), you can catch him on a boat with Pierce Fulton, Jaytech and Khoma on Saturday the 23rd — so if you aren’t inside the gates of Ultra at that time, check them out. Grab tickets here.

Albums, Review, Trance | Anjunabeats Volume 10 (Review)
Posted by Middy on March 5, 2013
While Anjunabeats Volume 9 seemed to have a noticeable difference between the two CDs, the landmark 10th volume found a way to make it seem as though there was no distinction between the two CDs and created a smooth, uplifting journey that transcends traditional genre barriers and shows the direction of Above & Beyond’s flagship label into the future as one that is forward thinking and defies labels. The compilation features tracks from familiar faces on the label like Maor Levi, Norin & Rad, Andrew Bayer, Jaytech, Arty, Oliver Smith and Kyau & Albert, while giving the chance for many others to shine on this 2 CD, 30 track album. Above & Beyond do a flawless job of mixing between tracks, making the intros and outros between songs seamless and almost not noticeable. Grab a copy below and start listening to the tracks below. Progressive House | Laidback Luke ft. Majestic – Pogo (Dub Mix)
Posted by Middy on February 6, 2013
One the hardest working men in the business, answering every tweet, giving advice on countless demos a year through the LBL forum, running his own label, producing his own tracks and a packed tour schedule, Laidback Luke starts his 2013 campaign with the his new single “Pogo”. This bouncy track adds another unique offering to the Dutchman’s discography with its addictive rhythm and quick rising key play. A vocal mix is on the way, but for now we can be very content with how the dub mix turned out.
