After spending a day or so covering Electric Zoo, we realized what a daunting task we had on our hands. With four stages of fury, it was pretty much impossible to take in the whole scene by ourselves. While Tayyib Ali had a busy summer on the road, Jon Kilmer was behind the camera capturing nearly every moment of it. From New York to Philly, to Massachusetts, to Boulder, Tayyib showed fans just what he’s all about. I was fortunate to catch up with Tay down in Plymouth, MA where he had the crowd moving like a veteran. Still only 19, this young Philly gun is poised for success and with new material just around the corner, expect more big things to come from Ali.
In other news, Statik Selektah released the track list for his upcoming album, where Tayyib will make an appearance along with Mac Miller, Bun B, Talib Kweli, Joel Ortiz, Big K.R.I.T., XV, and several other notable artists.
