This post is about two weeks late, and for that I apologize. But I’ve been hella busy, and I’m just having the chance to sit down and take a listen to Jacob Es’ latest mixtape. I’ve been listening to Jacob’s music since I first started blogging about a year and a half ago. I’ve seen steady improvement from Jacob, and that’s one of the main things I look for in upcoming artists.
On his tape, Swimming in the Sublime, Jake picks up solid features from Reeves of Aer and FNT favorite Jetpack Jones. The production is solid throughout, with up-tempo, positive beats without too much synthesizers and other electronic instruments we often hear on the radio. Just looking at the album cover, you’ll get a feel for where this mixtape will take you. Check out the mixtape in it’s entirety below via soundcloud.

Jacob Es drops off the perfect track for my Saturday. Jacob gives us a soothing hook, with Reeves of Aer killing it on the verse. Both men are rocking my neck apparel, Charlie Like The River. Get Down exemplifies the style that Jacob Es has come to show me on track after track. I hate to use the word “chill” to describe music, because it’s so vague. But that’s exactly what this track is, the beat, the hook, the verses. So chill out, grab a beer(if you’re of age), and take a seat in your man chair.

With New Years festivities now behind us, FNT is now looking forward to our next extravaganza at Webster Hall on January 10th. Boston based rapper, Jacob Es, released his EP Stoned Poets Society, back in March(based on the title, I’m sure you can guess the exact date) to much acclaim here at FNT. He recently dropped some visuals to one of the favorite tracks off the EP Pumped Up Kicks.
