Fresh off his showcase at the A3C Hip Hop festival, repping for the SRFSCHL movement, Eddie B drops “Splash” off his upcoming project The Johnny Utah Story , with a release planned on Monday 10/14, and yo if this project sounds anything like “Splash,” I’m mad looking forward to hearing it. From the bars, to the production, both Eddie and Harry Fraud deliver. Check that M83 sample and hear what Eddie speaks. My favorite line off the track is: “I just want to make more bread than Panera, I’m here to save the game like Mariano Rivera…” Must listen and get that free download!

Chill, Hip-Hop, Rap, RnB | DyMe-A-DuZin – Memories (Prod. By Harry Fraud)

Posted by on January 8, 2013

Honestly, I’m not quite sure about the story on this track, or Dyme-A-Duzin for that matter. After a quick research trek consisting of a 20 second visit to his Twitter bio, I learned he is a Warner Bros artist and also a frontman for the very talented Phony Ppl. What I also know is that he is able to have the honor of rapping over a Harry Fraud beat, which in our present age, is a hot commodity. This beat is absolutely incredible, which is what I’ve come to expect from La Musica De Harry Fraud. Download the track and lookout for his mixtape, A Portrait of Donnovan, which is being released on January 16th.

Freestyle, Hip-Hop, Videos | New Childish Gambino on Tim Westwood [Video]

Posted by on July 14, 2012

It seems that the days of genuine freestyling are all but behind us. Once a critical part of an upcoming emcee’s resume, freestyle sessions (like those of popular English DJ Tim Westwood) have now become a place where artists preview written verses, generally covering up the fact that they actually can’t freestyle at all. In the past year or so, this fact has become even more transparent, with artists like Drake (and now Childish Gambino) literally reading their “freestyle” verses off of their phones. Call it what you want—I’d still say it’s more honest than the opposite—like when J. Cole went on Westwood last year and delivered an impeccable freestyle that we all realized a few months later was just a verse on his debut album. Regardless, Childish Gambino is blowing up fast, and not only that—he is improving ridiculously fast as a rapper. While there are definitely a few songs off of CAMP that I like to bump, on a scale of most impressive elements of the project, his flow and lyricism were dead-last. Royalty, on the contrary (which you can download here in case you missed it), is a showcase of his radical improvement, which occured most clearly in those two areas. Now, he’s on a press tour, and of course makes the critical Westwood stop to drop off a handful of newly-scribed verses (you can tell just how fresh they are when CG laughs at the “bok choy” line). Watch him drop some impressive lines over Usher’s “Lemme See”, and do justice to the Harry Fraud instrumental that has been getting torn apart lately (cc: Kinetics’ “Chris Nolan”).

Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Curren$y & Harry Fraud – Cigarette Boats EP

Fan Favorite, Curren$y, unleashes this Harry Fraud produced EP. Complimenting each other, this project really impressed me. Curren$y’s effortless flow over these relaxing and fitting beats keep us focused and looking forward to each new song. Roll the windows down and cruise to this one.

Hip-Hop | Wiz Khalifa – Telescope (ft. 50 Cent) [Prod. Harry Fraud]

Posted by on June 21, 2012

Such a fitting picture for this newly released Wiz track. Produced by one of my favorite producers out right now, Harry Fraud, Wiz and feature partner 50 Cent go in on this laid back, relaxing beat. Expect this one to be in heavy rotation before O.N.I.F.C. drops.

Hip-Hop | Riff Raff ft. Action Bronson – Bird On A Wire (Video)

Posted by on February 12, 2012

Hip-hop purists will automatically pass on this post because it features outlandish former reality TV star turned SODMG rapper Riff Raff featured with the heavily respected Action Bronson. Although I have no clue how this collaboration happened, Riff Raff delivers one of his greatest verses ever over Harry Fraud’s looming introspective beat. He raps, “Astons martins sparking one and valet parking/lone sharking hopin’ that my days don’t be darkened, Jeter’s skin.” Those who hate on Ronald are those who fail to understand that rap is now theatre, and Riff Raff is simply playing a character. Visuals go to Max Albert.
