First off, big ups to Zoe for the sick artwork this week. I am always looking for sexy Moombah Monday artwork so if anyone wants to send over their creations, email them to me at [email protected]. I did my best to get you guys as many free download tracks as possible, but I couldn’t for all of them. First up we have an update from last weeks Moombah Mondays. Andrew D’s Electric Rasta is up for free DL, just click the buy this track for the DL.

House | Madeon – Icarus

Posted by on February 26, 2012

All I can say is finally. With its radio play on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection making massive waves around the world and leaving the world starving for more and months of very little to no information about the song; Madeon has finally released this beast on the world. Out on Madeon’s label Popcultured, this is a song you need to go download right away. Look out for his EP later this year and possibly for a resurgence of the French nu-disco sound with Madeon at the helm.

Dubstep | Flosstradamus – Total Recall EP

Posted by on February 24, 2012

Wow, this EP literally came out of no where. When I saw this under my incoming tracks I almost skipped over it, but decided why not give it a shot. Every track on here blew me away, I was not expecting that at all. The first track, ‘Total Recall,’ might be my favorite track off this EP. I love the style used with the vocal samples, and the drop has the smooth, melodic bassline that puts you in awe. ‘MOTA’ because of the synths used, kind of has this moombahton flow going on. Though not necessarily moombahton, I could definitely see this track in a sick moombahton set. The last track, ‘UR Life,’ almost sounds like Lady Gaga’s voice was sampled, but I wont complain. Once that smooth bassline drops, nothing else seems to matter.

Dubstep | Virtual Riot & Amba Shepherd – Superhuman

Posted by on February 22, 2012

More and more young artist are emerging out of no where with these monster tracks. Add Virtual Riot to the list of 17 year old producers who are making the veterans look bad. This track is flawless on so many levels I don’t know where to begin. First off Amba Shepherd’s vocals complement this track perfectly. The build up doesn’t prepare you for what is to come, because after and during the drop is where this track really comes together. The drop isn’t too heavy to drown out the vocals but it is still grimy enough to please any dubstepper’s appetite. Although the bass and drop are a little heavy this track somehow manages to put you in a state of euphoria, because of its perfect choice of instruments and synth sounds in the melody. If this isn’t doing it for you their is also a chilled out remix which is featured on the EP and you can get it on Beatport HERE.

Moombahton | Moombah Mondays

Posted by on February 20, 2012

Another week, another set of Moombah bangers. First up we have a veteran to Moombah Mondays and who dropped this edit only a few hours ago and of course didn’t disappoint. It none other than D!RTY AUD!O with an edit of Pick Your Poison (JWLS Remix) and oh it makes all the difference.

Another up and comer that we have posted a few times, Andrew D. with an original Mommbah track. He previewed it a while ago and I have been patiently waiting for this one. It something different, and in all the right ways. Show him some love on Soundcloud because he has some big things in the works coming soon.

SubVibe releasing a sick free EP today with dubstep, electro and this moombahcore banger! If you can’t handle your moombah with a little fire in it I suggest you refrain from this because SubVibe brings the heat. Such a sick track and a must download.

To end on a lighter note we have a sicknasty funky moombahton styled remix that is beyond dope. This is such a chill track, but it also brings the funk spiced with some nice latin love. I recommend everyone peep this track because it can definitely be enjoyed by everyone.

Review | Dillon Francis – “Something, Something, Awesome.” EP

Posted by on February 14, 2012

Dillon Francis released his new EP today as a little Valentine’s day present to his fans. There may be only three tracks (one for each Dillon Francis on that cover art?) but this EP is nonetheless fire: it combines electro house with the downtempo funk of moombahton to great effect. Dillon has already managed to cultivate an undeniably distinctive sound and these tracks reinforce that, with high-pitched synths and the agile, I.D.G.A.F.O.S.-esque melodies that are rapidly becoming his trademark. And, of course, plenty of driving and super danceable moombah basslines. Good stuff all around. My favorite of the three is currently “Dill The Noise,” which Sev previewed in last night’s Moomabah Mondays post, but “Falling Up” (which you may have already heard on BBC Radio 1) is packed with catchy riffs and “Now Hear This” layers some heavier electro synths under those recognizable moombahton leads. In short, this is a must DL; I have a feeling that Dillon’s in for a very big year so support his work by purchasing these tracks on Beatport.

Dubstep, Electro-House, Progressive House | Stars Come Out Remixes

Posted by on February 13, 2012

OWSLA native Zedd unleashed his Remix EP for his single Stars Come Out featuring many big names. Starting off with John Dahlback’s Progressive House remix. Not John’s best work and also a very short track, but nonetheless this remix is something different. Lazy Rich bringing their Electro skills to this track, by starting off with a nice intro that slowly builds into Heather Bright’s vocals. Next thing you know your jamming to a nasty and grimey electro synth with heavy leads that create the perfect combination for an electro-house track. Theres no stopping Datsik lately, and we continue to see him showcasing some of his new sounds and styles in this remix. If you haven’t listened to his UMF mix, you are missing out on a lot of his unreleased goodies. This remix is crazy with the synths and is hands down my favorite remix on this EP. Terravita also provide a nice dubstep remix, which is a little heavier on the bass and more ruffneck on the synths if that’s what you prefer. Last we have Tim Mason, who provides an uplifting progressive house remix with a suberb melodic bassine and prominent synth work. Be sure to grab this EP on Beatport HERE.
