Dubstep, Review | Eyes & Ryan Keen – Tonight EP
Posted by Mach on March 9, 2012
The previews for this EP were only released 10 days ago. I am so glad we didn’t have to wait a couple months for this release. Eyes is currently an unsigned producer, but has done tracks for labels such as Mau5trap, Rub-A-Duck, and now this release under Quantum. Ryan Keen is a rising vocalist from the UK, only having been featured on a few big artist titles, he has a lot of his own original work. The two are a dynamic duo on this track. Eyes’ beat is smooth and flawless, combined with Ryan Keen’s incredible vocals, this track becomes an emotion itself. I love the acoustic synth that Eyes breaks in with, only to transfer into deep strings that really take off with the track. Ryan Keen’s vocals truly make this one amazing track to remix, Titchimoto’s remix utilizes the power of his vocals. He maintains the original smoothness, but almost maks the track ballad like with the electric guitar thrown in. What would be a dubstep EP if there wasn’t a track that tried to knock your socks off. Honestly, Urban Knights remix surprised me. It starts out smooth just like the others, and you think the track drops at one point and it sounds like he threw in some dirty bass sounds, but never really does anything. Of course you hit a point where the build up is intense, then boom… Hope everyone enjoys this EP just as much at I did. Below is the free remix InContext dropped that we previously posted.

Moombahton | Bro Safari – Bros Gone Wild EP
Posted by Sev on March 8, 2012
One of the top artist in Moombahton, Bro Safari, has released his newest EP “Bros Gone Wild”. From the eye catching artwork to his unique interpretation on Moombahon, this EP is a definite must have. The EP pushes the bounds of a new style of music, because what you thought was Moombahton before you heard this EP will make you reconsider. I can’t say that I have a favorite on this EP because they are all equally diverse and appealing, but if I had to choose it would be Avalon (feat. LeDoom). The track starts off nice and smooth with a latin feeling drum and sliced vocals that slowly progresses into a ruff sounding synth Moombahton drop with a dope bounce feel to the track. This EP isn’t what you are used to hearing, but it is definitely worth the listen. Grab it on Beatport HERE.
As an added bonus this dope remix he did for Treasure Fingers was given away for Free on the same day his EP released. Grab the download in the Soundcloud description.

Electro-House | Iggy Azalea – My World (Bailey Smalls Remix)
Posted by Mach on March 8, 2012
Damn, My buddy Bailey Smalls does it again. This new freebie of his bumps, his use of ‘My World’ vocals over his sick beat is party and dance floor ready. Bailey is pushing to make a name for himself, and I think the sky limit of where he’s headed is just the beginning of where this guy will go. He has an upcoming EP titled ‘Baby, I love You,’ which drops March 20th. The EP has remixes from The Partysquad, Aylen, Udachi, and more! Get to know Bailey Smalls because this wont be the last you hear of him.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Live City EP
Posted by Middy on March 8, 2012
Live City are a duo of Dj / producers from New York City. They make some dirty house and electro tracks that vary in sound and style. They released a 6 song EP a little while back with 3 remixes and 3 original tracks that are simply outstanding. The songs vary from some heavy, grungy electro house tracks like “Neon Ride” and “Rusty Rock”, to some big room progressive bangers like “Connection Lost” and Jessica Sutta – Show Me Love (Live City Remix), which provides an excellent melody to accompany Ms. Sutta’s beautiful vocals. Do not sleep on this EP because every song is some free fire. I included another single of theirs that is some pretty heavy electro with acid influences in the break. Go to their soundcloud to check out some previews of upcoming singles and remixes.

Dubstep | R Rated #19
Posted by Sev on March 7, 2012
Xilent finally unleashes all hell with his lastest and baddest remix to Sub Focus’s single Out The Blue. I was not expecting Xilent to pull a 180 and stray away from his more melodic Gemini-esque style, but this remix is just nuts on so many levels. Just in time for the festival season too, this one is going to crush everyone and everything in its path. Although this week was a little quieter than the past few weeks as far as releases, next week is going to be another big week. The biggest release of them being Camo & Krooked’s “Between The Lines EP”. Ya OWSLA has their compilation releasing next week as well, but if you have been listening to the previews from this EP you will know what im talking about. The heaviest of the heaviest DnB, Drumstep, and Dubstep is featured on the EP and just to prove it here are my top two favorites by far and R Rated approved.
First we have a free tune from up and coming Never Say Die Records star Eptic. As of late there has been a lot of hype circulating his tracks and rightfully so. Creating some monster tunes and remixes that have been rinsed out in sets by all the big names. This track has more of a Brown and Gammon feel to it with the upbeat and glich sounding combination.

Figure has been on the loose lately releasing some heavy tunes. His latest drumstep remix on Borgores EP was ridiculous. He is currently working on an album set to release in late spring early summer and to spread the word he gave away this unique track . It some style of destructo/doom music.

Bassnectar just gave away his latest track entitled Ugly from his upcoming album , and it looks like Notixx just could not wait to remix the track. Within a day he was able to produce a remix equally as impressive as Bassnectar’s original.

Good looks from Mach scooping this track from JD4D. Vexare bringing the lasers with a VIP of his track Firing.

Last we have heavy, bass driven tune by Exilica. The track starts off with a nice piano melody and some vocals, then before you known it you get hit with a full out bass flex.
Dubstep, Review | Flinch – Light It Up EP
Posted by Sev on March 2, 2012
Flinch’s new EP hasn’t been getting the recognition it deserves, and from asking around it is safe to say everyone who has listened to it was caught by surprise. All four tracks on this EP are refreshing, and pleasing original dubstep tunes. Starting off with Light it Up,vocals provided by Heather Bright, which is a well worked vocal dubstep track. The drop isn’t anything crazy, but stylish enough to listen to a 100 times and not get tired of it. The second track on the EP is probably my favorite, because he showcased a version of it late last year but as a remix of a Katy B track. I’m really happy he decided get a vocalist, Domonique Porter, to lay down some original vocals to this absolute monster track. Third, we have a track entitled Lost In A Blur and I would have to say that title sums up this track well. There is a feeling of not knowing what is coming in this track, because it starts off soft and ordinary then a pretty heavy drop just slaps you in the face. The last track on the EP reminds me somewhat of Flinch’s remix to Woman Like Me, because of the same UK Funky vibe throughout the track. Grab this EP on Beatport HERE.

Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Moombahton, Review | Emalkay – Flesh & Bone (Remixes)
Posted by Mach on February 28, 2012
I wanted to take a day after this released to listen a bit more to these remixes. Emalkay are amazing, but this package contained some lesser names and I really wanted to be sure about posting them. Turns out I am in love with every remix on this, and picking one favorite is very difficult to do. The original track is cool reggae vibed drum & bass, a feel I have really been getting into as of late. The first remix on this happened to end up being my favorite, The Others kept the parts I loved about the original and added a sweet dubstep drop. When it came to picking my favorite out the 3 remixes, Delta Heavy’s remix was almost tied with The Others. Delta Heavy went with a drumstep remix, and really took off with the drum beat which sounds incredible. Beatport confused me, they have the entire remix EP labeled as dubstep, but clearly Dismantel went with a sexy moombahton remix that I don’t think anyone would mind hearing on the dance floor. All in all I really enjoyed listening to these remixes.
