Dubstep | R Rated #61
Posted by Sev on January 25, 2013
Sorry for the delay on R Rated again guys, but we had a lack of free tunes again this week and just needed to wait a bit more for the goods. To kick off R Rated we got this sick preview from Flux Pavilion’s upcoming EP of a track that seems to have him on the vocals. The track is entitled The Scientist and has that awesome old school Flux Pavilion vibe that everyone fell in love with. Only 4 more days until the EP releases so keep your eyes peeled.
Mach and I posted this track a few weeks ago on R rated talking about how badly we wanted this track and the fact that we would never get it. Well we were wrong, because after getting spammed Trolley Snatcha decided it was time to give it away. I can’t imagine as to why he wouldn’t finish such a monstrous track and release it on an EP.
Next up is an absolute grimey, dirty, gritty track from Getter. This track is filthy on so many levels its hard to describe. I honestly don’t know how else to describe this track besides that it nearly rips your ears to bits from its tearing mid range basses. On another note, Getter’s collaboration with Protohype is a little bit strayed from Getter’s usual style and leans more toward a more melodic and festival style track while keeping some grime.
Formerly known as Deadpool Dubstep, Ommi has just released his Mutant EP yesterday and just to push the EP up the charts a little more, as a side gift if you buy the EP and send him a screenshot of the purchase you can also gets this heavy track. Its a tribute to his old alias and its a banger.
Here are a few more track and previews for you guys to enjoy. Read on.

Tayyib Ali & Cisco Adler just let go this new feel-good jam off their upcoming joint project, The One Way EP. Tayyib, staying true to his sound, takes us way back when by painting a picture through his memory infused lyrics over a smooth Cisco Adler production. Be on the lookout for the EP as well as Tayyib’s solo mixtape Keystone State of Mind 2 coming soon!
Progressive House | Doctor P feat. Eva Simons – Bulletproof (Vicetone Remix)
Posted by Middy on January 24, 2013
The guys do it again. Ruben & Victor in honor of Ruben’s birthday a few days back have released their remix of Doctor P’s single with Eva Simons “Bulletproof” off of his 4 track EP out in September “Animal Vegetable Mineral Part 1”. Vicetone flips Doctor P’s 140 bpms and at times hard on the hearing synth leads for a crisp 4 on the 4 floor bass line and big room melodies that have made their rise to prominence possible. With yet another outstanding, clean production under their belt, it will be great to see them possibly expand into a larger multi-track release format and see what they have in store for touring in 2013.

Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Preview | Reso – Tangram Remixed EP
Posted by Mach on January 23, 2013
2013 is already turning out to be an awesome year for electronic music in my opinion. Reso has an awesome line up of remixing artists for his upcoming remix EP of his recent EP release “Tangram.” The remix EP features KOAN Sound, Om Unit, Billain, and Doshy. KOAN Sound’s remix is a lot more abstract than I am used to hearing from them. Their remix of “Axion” is a very deep, bassy Drum & Bass track that transitions into a kicked up Midtempo jam. Om Unit has my favorite remix of the whole EP. The way they remixed “Simple Pleasures” creates the emotion that the title is so deserving of. The track is very chill and still with the same deep bass that carries out through all the remixes. Billain made a dirty Neuro-Dubstep remix of “Half Life,” making my ears convulse in the craziest ways. The last remix from Doshy is the only one of the EP that does not have its own clip. Doshy’s remix of “Coronium” is what I would call an abstract take on Trap. Oddly enough the idea works, and Doshy’s remix provides a cool-temperatured finish to the EP. The remix EP is set to release March 11th.

Electro-House | Feed Me – Death By Robot EP
Posted by Middy on January 18, 2013
Feed Me makes his return to deadmau5’s mau5trap imprint with a 3 track EP “Death By Robot” as he prepares to bring the teeth stateside in a little under 2 weeks. The title track stands out on the EP with its intricately layered melody and delicate key work, all aided by a robotic voice. As one of the tracks premiered during his essential mix back in September, “Dialup Days” gives us the glitchy electro and complex bass lines we see in many Feed Me tracks. “Gravel” also gives us that vintage Feed Me sound with its haunting melody and gritty electro. This is not Feed Me’s most upbeat EP to date, but the quality is there across the board. Check out the dates after the jump for the his teeth tour as it gets started on the 29th in DC. House, Preview | Kahwe – Driving Me Wild EP
Posted by Mach on January 18, 2013
Wow, this is a pretty big EP for up and coming producer Kahwe. The entire EP is full of deep House goodies, starting with the title track “Driving Me Wild.” The track has a soulful take on the deep and garaged styled House music. The second track “Anything” has that same aspect only with a bit of that 70s and 90s blend of funk. “Anything” is most definitely my favorite of the three, though they are all great sounds. The last track “Yew” is much more laid back than the others, but gives off a warm feeling that you get from having drinks with your friends in a lounge. Kahwe’s new EP “Driving Me Wild” releases February 11th.

A few months ago we first introduced you to Maxxx Flair, a deft new lyricist from New York whose stock has risen dramatically behind a recent pair of earnest, eloquent releases. Tonight he’s back with the first single from his new EP, Wake Up, featuring Sunny Jones of the production duo 2 Thumbs Up, who provided the captivating instrumental. Maxxx’s latest work has been decidedly more candid and complex, and thus we can only expect to continue hearing impactful, creative music from this exciting new emcee.
