Electronic, Nu Disco, Pop | Fare makes an upbeat debut with “Had Enough”

Posted by on July 19, 2018

The artists behind the duo Fare – Ryan Lafferty and Charlie Maynard – have known each other since college, but only have gotten together to make music under their new name recently. Now, they’ve joined Herø Records / Sony Orchard for their debut release, a single entitled “Had Enough.”

Taking into account the guys’ wide ranging influences – New Order, Kraftwerk, Jamie xx, Nick Murphy and Mark Ronson and indie rock classics Fleetwood Mac and Billy Joel – “Had Enough” has legs in just about every genre. Featuring an infectious hook for pop fans, groovy production for house fans and instrumentation for the indie fan, it’s an addictive first run for Fare.

Electronic | Newcomer Britton shines with “Under Your Skin”

Posted by on March 19, 2018

Not much is known about the freshly launched artist project Britton but if his first release is any indication of what’s yet to come then count me in. From the lush vocals to the hypnotizing synths his debut single “Under Your Skin” shines in all the right places. Although the song is about heartbreak the overall vibe makes you feel warm, seems fitting for the start of Spring. Available as a free download here.

Electro-House, Electronic, Indie, Mainstream Remix | Electronic, Remix |Wheathin Drops Festival Ready Remix of Elohim’s “Sensations”

Posted by on May 17, 2016

If you’re not a fan of Wheathin already, allow me to convert you. Remember the Elohim track “Sensations” that dropped about a month ago? Well he just released a remix of it, and it’s even catchier than the original.

He leaves the verse relatively untouched, allowing Elohim’s vocals to carry you through the musical backdrop. With rhythmic hand claps and an epic synth-laden drop, this track is both chilled and dance-worthy. The 17-year-old producer has been crafting an impressive array of tracks lately, including remixes of Louis The Child, Ty Dolla $ign, and a collaborative remix with Next Wave artist Bearson.

It seems his forte is taking unexpected indie and pop tracks and painting them with his metaphoric electronic brush. On this one, he turns Elohim’s mysterious and sensual release and turns it into a huge, festival ready banger. Check out the rest of his music on SoundCloud and grab a limited free download while you can.

Electronic, RnB | Snakehips – After I Met U

Posted by on July 31, 2014

As I write this, I’ve only listened one time to this brilliant new track from UK heartthrobs, Snakehips, and my fingertips are tingling with excitement. I even just caught myself casually grinning. Preface: summer vibes to the max (because rainbow pastel is the new black, right?). “After I Met U” radiates the Snakehips’ signature style of combining sultry R&B vocals and feelings with an upbeat and addicting retro electronic backing. A style we’ve seen most recently in their kaleidoscopic single “Days With You” featuring songstress Sinead Harnett. This track, which was pulled from Snakehips’s live sets in response to the high demand from fans, showcases Cheri Dennis in a much more exhilarating manner than the original. And to top off what was already another casually perfect song from the cat-loving producing duo, the switch up and throwback at the 2:15 mark will knock you out of your chair. And suddenly I’m feeling compelled to whip out some of ol’ Jenny’s moves…
