Dubstep | Excision, Downlink, & Space Laces – Raise Your Fist

Posted by on November 15, 2012

Destroyed is the joining of three of Dubstep’s epic filth mongers, Excision, Downlink, & Space Laces. Their plan so it seems is to destroy our ears with some of the dirtiest Dubstep to be released. So far… I believe they are succeeding. This track owns face, sending a monster of bass through your eardrums, exiting through your mouth in a “wow.” Jump on this nasty track, it’s a game changer.

Dubstep, Electro-House, Review | Zeds Dead & Omar LinX – The Living Dead EP

Posted by on July 25, 2012

Redbull posted up a preview only premiere yesterday on their site for this insane EP and the feed back has been immense. Zeds Dead has again teamed up with Toronto’s master lyricist Omar LinX to dish out another knockout blow to our eardrums. If what we have been hearing from these three isn’t enough proof that they should become an official trio, I don’t know what is.

“Crank” kicks off this EP with Zeds Dead’s notorious bass-crunch. Omar LinX opens up the track by putting the mic on its knees, the spitting coming from him alone. Zeds Dead takes the rest from there finishing strong, but just getting started. The next track, “Take A Chance,” is another crunchy Dubstep track. Again Omar LinX was a key factor in its perfection, while Zeds Dead created the feel Omar cooked. With great things also come disappointments here and there, that being said this EPs only disappointment in my mind was the EP’s title track, “The Living Dead.” The idea of the track is cool, but hearing it in action you can tell it is lacking in any form of excitement. Though the title track was not anything special, the last track of the EP is undoubtedly one of Zeds Dead’s and Omar LinX’s best works. Omar does his thing, expressing his emotional flow flawlessly over the calmed beats of the track. Zeds Dead gives us a drop style we are not use to hearing from them, as if we are supposed to be Crunkstepping in the lights of Swag. With the one exception in this EP, it is still an amazing compilation from Zeds Dead & Omar LinX.

Electro-House | Skorby – Area 51

Posted by on April 4, 2012

WOAH! This track was completely unexpected. Who is Skorby? Great question, I was asking the same thing. Skorby is a 17 year old DJ from LA, California and damn does he bring the heat. This heavy electro-house original is a game changer. The track starts with a progressive house attitude, and send a shock to your system once that dirty dance floor electro breaks in your eardrums. I hope we get more tracks like this from the up and comer.

In preparation for the Fresh New Tracks sponsored mashup extravaganza at Webster Hall on January 10th, we would like to introduce you to cast who will be taking over your eardrums. First up Doug Bogan, a rising star in the college mashup scene. Being a sucker for all things Kaskade, his latest mashup, Raining California Girls, really hit home for me. The combination of Raining with California Girls, We Found Love, and a sprinkle of Bruno Mars is nothing short of epic. So check out his tracks, grab your ticket here, and stay tuned for more.

UPDATE: After reaching 600 “likes” when this post was publish, Doug Bogan just released this new banger as a ‘Thank You’

Hip-Hop, RnB, Videos | Easy Does It – Feelin’ Like Ooh (VIDEO)

Posted by on December 3, 2011

I’m pretty sure that most of our viewership comes to FNT to stock up on the beats that take their nightly rager to the next level. Well thats all well and good, but we strive for the total monopolization of your eardrums. To that end, allow me to premier the latest video from Easy Does It which features their laid back single Feelin’ Like Ooh. The best way to describe their sound is an upbeat/ hip hop version of Citizen Cope. After watching the video I’m sure you will see this song is perfect for those lazy afternoons when all you want to do is kick back, grab a brew, and have yourself a barbecue with friends.

Also, if you haven’t checked out their cover video for The Red Hot Chili Peppers The Adventures of Raindance Maggie , take a look after the jump.

Radical Something aka Loggy, Josh Cocktail, and Big Red aka the group that is monopolizing the sound waves reaching your eardrums on these cool summer days, are back at it with their latest single “California.” The formula is simple: mix some feel good lyricism from Loggy with the heart felt crooning of Josh Cocktail and you get one damn good summer vibe. After hitting the blogwaves with Be Easy, Escape , and Long Hair Don’t Care, the release of “California” neatly fits into the growing summer playlist from this super-group.
