Chet Porter is by far one of the most unpredictable producers on the rise. No boost – every time I press play on a Chet Porter track I have no idea what to expect. This one steps away from the traditional “build and drop” formula dominating EDM airwaves worldwide. It starts off in an epic fashion and continues beautifully into another world. The vocals are utilized perfectly. You can’t classify this and that’s what I love about this remix and Chet Porter’s productions. Progressive House | Hardwell Releases Horrendous “Sally” Single Featuring Harrison

Holy smokes this is bad. Who in the hell wrote this song? The lyrics make me cringe just listening to them. This Harrison guy singing the vocals (who I suspect wrote the lyrics) is hard to listen to. There’s even a cliche “one, two, three go” before the drop. Please make it stop. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not against progressive house. There are many artists who do it well. This track though? It makes me ears bleed. You know what I find hilarious? Last year, in an interview with Armin Van Buuren, he said:

“I’m experimenting with a lot of new, different sounds. I’m a bit sick of the same formula that’s going on in EDM right now so I’m just trying to change boundaries and look at what’s going on in the rest of the world. Even in the hip hop scene and the trance scene and try to combine as much as possible.” [VIDEO]

Hardwell’s “United We Are” album drops January 23rd. I won’t be picking it up.

Really happy to be posting this one. Larry June, a dude who’s been making moves with 808Mafia and making a name for himself joins forces with IAMSU! to drop this trap banger. Produced by newcomer KiNG KiLO, its a hard Chicago drill sounding beat that works really well with the two flows. Good rhymes and a lot of bass, what more do you need? Enjoy.

Australian native JAWZ supplies a heavy serving of bass with this fat remix to ‘The Weekend’ by Generik. What was a summer anthem has now received a resurrection and comes with a synthesized drop too familiar with the genre – but that’s just why I love this. As the year comes to a wrap, we only have a few more weekends to commemorate what I hope has been a fantastic year for you all (it’s been pretty damn good on my end). Music Monday just got groovier. Spinnin’ Records (say whaaaat?) just added another funktastic feature to their catalog with Lucas & Steve’s ‘Blinded.’ Bethany’s seductive voice was clearly made for this track and this drop has me mean muggin’ and two-steppin’ uncontrollably – it’s grimy as f*ck. ‘Blinded’ is close to racking in over a 100,000 plays and every time I click refresh the numbers keep rising. Sam Feldt juts dropped “Hot Skin” an original collaboration he did with Kav Verhouzer, and folks let this one play, it takes a minute to get going, but once those chords kick in, and the vocals drop, it’s legit a piece of heaven.
