Contests | Introducing Invenio Music
Posted by BIGLIFE on September 5, 2012

Two of my close friends have started a new music venture called Invenio Music. It’s a discovery platform that also allows artists to gain exposure and win prizes. Read below for more details.
Most recently, Invenio Music named Los Angeles-based artist Shanica Knowles its inaugural original song competition winner alongside indie-rock band Echo and Drake from Connecticut. Their songs, Mean It With Me and Sundrenched Elsewhere, respectively, beat out the rest of the competition to win the grand prize of cash, feature stories, and free Invenio Music t-shirts (see pictures after the jump).
Invenio Music is a community-driven online music platform combining elements of YouTube and American Idol. They host competitions and use their large community of music enthusiasts to help determine which artists and songs will be the next big hits. They award winners of their competitions with a number of different prizes ranging from cash to video interviews to studio and label exposure.

Invenio Music is hosting a nationwide DJ Competition that kicked off on Monday, August 27th. The winning artist will be invited to DJ at Invenio Music’s launch party in New York City in October. DJ’s – sign up and submit your track today!

Hip-Hop | Aaliyah Featuring Drake – Enough Said
Posted by J_Salzer on August 5, 2012
Well, here we are. After first learning that Drake would be using the great late Aaliyah’s musical creations as impetus for his own release, I was skeptical to say the least. It’ll be very tough for Drake to stay true to his own fans, while still trying to please loyal Aaliyah fans. It’s always a tricky subject to be toying with artist’s who can no longer speak for themselves, so when I first heard this track, I was skeptical to say the least. But with Drake’s own, Noah “40” Shebib, behind the boards, Aaliyah’s smooth vocals, and Drake delivering with his verse, I really don’t see a problem with this. In fact, I like it a lot. I found it interesting that both Drake and Aaliyah’s record label(who still has her musical rights) were represented in the album artwork. Well whatever, just enjoy the music.
Albums | Meek Mill ft. Drake – Amen [Video]
Posted by J_Salzer on July 15, 2012
Meek Mill drops off the highly anticipated video off his highly anticipated mixtape(that’s alot of hype). The video features Meek living a lifestyle that we could all envy. Even though this song was dubbed sacrilegious by one Philadelphia pastor who I’m sure wouldn’t enjoy the sexy ladies in this video, I think it’s a damn good song, with some damn good visuals. Say what you want about Drake’s character, he is one of my favorite rappers in the game. I know that I might lose my “man-card” for saying that, but the fact remains that he has one of the smoothest deliveries in the game. He brings his all on the Meek track, all the while looking slightly soft in his jeans and lacoste polo. Whether you like this video of not, Meek Mill has a lot to be praising God for.
Cover, Pop, Videos | Jon Bellion – The Motto (Drake Cover)

It’s my pleasure to introduce the newest artist represented by Visionary Music Group, Jon Bellion. At 21, Jon has proven to be a very talented musician, crafting his own art by writing, recording, mixing, and mastering all his own original music. With blossoming artists Logic and Tayyib Ali on the same roster, the Long Island native will attempt to establish himself in the blogosphere with a distinct pop sound, as his predecessors have done with hip-hop.
Although cover songs are rare for Jon, who typically composes all original material, he decided to spin Drake and Lil Wayne’s crowd pleasing track, “The Motto” in hopes of warming up to the hip-hop heavy blog scene. While the term “YOLO” may be overworked and overused at this point, Jon brings a refreshing set of vocals to the microphone and transforms this track from a club hit to a very mellow pop cover. He will be following this introduction video with three completely original singles along with his debut mixtape “Translations Through Speakers” later this year.
What are the FNT faithful’s initial thoughts about Jon Bellion?
Moombahton | D!RTY AUD!O x Aylen feat. Jitta On The Track – Different Cities (Original Mix)
Posted by Sev on June 29, 2012
Two of my favorite upcoming Moombahton artist have collaborated on what seems to be this summers Moombah anthem for me. Also featuring an upcoming vocalist/artist as well, named Jitta On The Track, who just finished opening on tour for Waka Flocka and Drake. This track has it all for me; appealing vocals, heavy bass, good melody, and a unique drop. The track starts off with a nice popping synth and melody that slowly progresses into some dope lyrics by Jitta, which sets it all up for the bass filled drop. Show these guys some support and like their pages below.
Hip-Hop, Videos | Riz – Waiting Up ft. Drake [Behind The Leaked Record]
Posted by Grubeats on April 20, 2012
[do action=”youtube” videoid=”CcEzBkhorVc”/]
UPDATE: Before I even had a chance to post the track, SoundCloud informed me the new record was copyrighted. With some further investigation, I discovered the track leaked and there is some controversy behind how and why the track hit the blogs. If you watch the video above, Riz explains how the record came about and how his relationship with Drizzy’s team has since gone sour. If the claims in this video are truthful and the facts are how they appear, I have a new found respect for Riz as an artist. Emerging into the game is not easy. Whether you’re digging through couches for nickels and dimes or have trust fund labels at your disposal, you still have to put in the work. From what I have gathered, Drake’s label took advantage of a young artist and failed to hold up their end of the agreement.
Whether or not this track was purposely released (Riz say’s it wasn’t), and whether Drake’s manager is riding around hanging a $30,000 wrist gem out the window, people have now heard the track and know the name Riz. Publicity stunt? Some may see it that way. It’s all gravy until we heard more from Riz and can evaluate him more as an artist. Be on the lookout for new (legitimate) music coming soon!
**NY hip-hop artist, Riz, is breaking new grounds with his most recent single featuring Drake, which will be featured on his debut album, The Blindside. Until now, I’ve never heard of this cat, but with nearly 60,000 Twitter followers , it’s evident he’s been doing several things right for a fair amount of time now. Although some of that fan base could be due to the fact he’s worked with industry bosses such as Whoo Kid, Mr. Thanksgiving aka DJ Drama, Lloyd Banks, Yo Gotti, Trey Songz & more, he holds his own on this new track. Produced by 40, Drake kicks off the song with some relationship rhymes and Riz follows with some emotional lyrics we can all relate to. **
Hip-Hop | Logic – Tic Tac Toe (Prod. by 6ix & Official OB)
Posted by Grubeats on April 17, 2012
While his fan base is exploding like no other up and comer in the game, Logic releases the final single off his highly anticipated mixtape, Young Sinatra: Undeniable. I had the privilege to meet up and interview with Logic at his performance this past Sunday in Boston. Let me start off by saying he is one of, if not the most personable, well spoken, appreciative artists I have ever met. Taking the time to personally connect one on one with every fan at some point during the night, every fan left as a friend. With that being said, my love for his music continues to escalate along with my respect for him as an artist and a person.
This single, “Tic Tac Toe” was produced by in house Visionary Music Group producer, 6ix, along with Official OB. As expected, several people began making comparisons between Logic and Drake after his last single, Numbers, which was a result of Logic lowering his voice and singing as Drizzy often does. Logic’s answer to that, “Logic is Logic”. The versatility we’ve seen so far with the 4 singles have shown what Logic is capable of, offering up so many subgenre’s of hip-hop while maintaining a high level of lyrical expertise on each track. Crank this one up, this record is going to be huge!
Be on the lookout for an exclusive FNT x Logic interview dropping later this week!
