Hip-Hop, Videos | No Trace – 5AM in Toronto (Remix)
Posted by J_Salzer on April 28, 2013
I know what most of you are thinking. You’re angry at me for posting a remix to 5AM in Toronto, it’s like three weeks late, I get it. But, this is my first exposure to No Trace’s music and I was shocked. When I got a message from a 16 year old, yes, I said 16 year old, on Facebook, I was expecting the worst. What I got though, was the opposite. Now, you can’t be comparing these guys to Drake, Chance, Cole, etc., yet. They’re 16. They have mad potential and the song is dope. Check it out above and be on the lookout for more from these two, Fresh New Tracks will be tracking their progress closely.

Drake’s closed minded sentiments are reflected on PropaneLv’s latest cover. Bonus: this version of the new DJ Khaled single does NOT have his yelling all over it. Nice!

Hip-Hop, RnB | Drake Ft. James Fauntleroy – Girls Love Beyonce
Posted by Mach on April 16, 2013
Drake isn’t wrong, girls absolutely love Beyonce. He can’t lie though, we all know he likes Beyonce as well, seeing as he has performed Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” live a few times now. Honestly, I think Roc Nation’s James Fauntleroy does the hook much better. This has nothing to do with if I think Beyonce or Destiny’s Child sucks, but since the originals release recording systems have improved greatly. James Fauntleroy’s voice portrayed a lot of emotion through just those few lines in addition to Drake’s clearly improved ability to tell a story, leaving us with an incredible free download. Much respect for Drake and how he has gone about releasing his new works. If you haven’t the chance to listen to them, I highly recommend you give each a chance.
Hip-Hop | DJ Khaled Feat. Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne – No New Friends (SFTB Remix)

Here’s the predictable first single off of DJ Khaled’s “Suffering From Success”. The only thing that DJ Khaled seems to be suffering from is a penchant for fast food and putting his name on tracks that he had nothing to do with. DJ Khaled is the type of guy that copy-pastes a joke he found on Twitter, changes a few words, and calls it his own so we can stunt on his timeline. Why artists (other than the fact that he’s the president of Def Jam South) choose to work with him is beyond me. He brings nothing to the table.
Why artists work with DJ Khaled is beyond me. He brings nothing to the table. He doesn’t rap, write or produce. He just stamps his name.

Hip-Hop | Drake – 5AM In Toronto (prod. by Boi-1da)

Allow me to preface this post by saying, everybody is entitled to their own opinion as am I. Drake goes viral regardless of any blog so why not take this opportunity to share my thoughts. As the clock strikes 5AM here in Toronto, I don’t like this track. ”5AM In Toronto” bleeds pints of emotion, it’s got mad lyricism, and I get all that. I’m not even saying that I have something opposed to what we have here. I just don’t feel like I know what’s good anymore, and to be perfectly honest; I don’t think you do either. Everyone is starving for nutriance, and these organic vocal dosages give us life. Staring through the mirror into an artist’s life makes us feel like we have a friend, and because of this I’m usually sufficing thoughts like ‘Who is this guy talking to‘. We like hearing voices, and if that sounds crazy, well… yes it is. Anyways, I think this is what we’ve all been waiting for so allow me to contradict myself, my name is W8!
Late last night Young Money’s own Drake followed up his earlier smash hit ”Started From The Bottom” with more heat entitled ”5AM In Toronto”. The way Drake manages to feature on his own track is remarkable. His third studio album is presumably set to drop this summer.
