DJ Snake ended the year with a #1 on the iTunes Dance chart with Lil Jon’s “Turn Down For What,” announcing a residency in Las Vegas at Wynn Resorts, and back to back shows in NYC and San Diego to bring in the new year. Not slowing down, and for no reason in particular, today he releases a mash up of Prodigy and Mercer entitled “Breathe (Parisian Vision).” Go into this track with no expectations, the drop is going to be a slap in the face, one like you’ve never heard it before. This is a must listen and a must download!

** After reading the comments under the Snake track, it appears 4 months ago producer Breaux released his own remix of Mercer and Prodigy’s”Breathe” and it sounds exactly like the one that was released today! Have a listen for yourself!

Tegan - XIII (Thirteen) EP

Miami DJ / producer Tegan has released his debut three track EP “XII (Thirteen)”. The French born producer has a residency on Radio FG in Mexico and has taken his training as an audio engineer to the producing front with a few remixes and now 3 originals packaged in this EP. The three tunes show the melodic side of electro house, adding tasteful melodies to hard hitting saws and synths. Jump into the new year quickly with these three freebees from Tegan and look for more from him soon.

The homie “Jersey Club King” DJ Sliink teamed up with DJ Bake to remix Toni Romiti’s “Miss Me” for a free download and it’s straight sex. If you’ve been blessed with catching a live set from Sliink, you know he’s a true maestro behind the decks, keeping the crowd in check by slowing it down, or bringing it up a notch with the hard beats. This remix is representative of his style, with this rendition of “Miss Me,” you get it nice and slow, but you’re also going to “get this work” just like you should. This is a must listen and a must download!

Progressive House | Arno Cost & Greg Cerrone – NightVenture

Posted by on December 28, 2013

Arno Cost & Greg Cerrone - NightVentureWow, just wow. Arno Cost started the year on Size Records with “Head Up“, and finishes off the year on the same label alongside Greg Cerrone. The track was delayed 4 days for some reason or another, but it is here after being premiered by Danny Howard on BBC Radio One and getting heavy play by the label boss over the past several months. The track has both the classic prog sound that Arno Cost is known for, with a furious, fast paced, searing melody that will pierce through any DJ set.

Mix, Mixtapes, Review | 10 Mixes From 2013 That Made My Jaw Drop

Posted by on December 23, 2013

One cool thing that happened to me this year was that I got hired on to write for FNT. I have followed this website for years and it has led me to mountains of great music. I’m glad that I now have the opportunity to share music with the website. This year I became a bigger fan of mixes; I love to see what artists can do when given an extended period of time within which they can be creative. Below is the list of 10 mixes that I liked the most from this past year, with some other mixes mentioned at the end that didn’t make this list based on who knows what. The list is more or less ranked in order, with mix #1 definitely being my favourite. If you don’t want to listen to all of the mixes, and don’t care what I have to say about them, then skip ahead and at least listen to the number 1 mix – Space Jams by The M Machine (hence the above, cool picture of those guys). Thanks for supporting the website by visiting it, thanks for supporting artists and their music, and thanks for reading our posts.

FYI, Review | Dillon Francis’ Merch Table is Possibly the Best Thing on the Internet

Posted by on December 17, 2013

Okay, so for those of you who don’t already know, aside from being one of the most talented, Dillon Francis (AKA DJ Hanzel) is hands down one of the funniest, most creative artists in the industry right now. Whether it’s reenacting scenes from Adam Sandler movies, casually handing out free tacos for DJ awareness, or just making jokes that nobody entirely understands, this guy really does come up with some of the most hilarious (and weirdest) things you’ll see on the internet.

Now, I’m sure many of you saw the (almost uncomfortable) video below of Dillon and 12th planet playing out the scene from “Ghost” where Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore sensually make pottery together:

This clip came up in a conversation I had with a friend the other day, which then prompted us to revisit what other crazy stuff Dillon will do for money. Of course, under the category “Awesome S**t” on his merch website, we found a spectacular collection of things he’ll do for dollars. Some of my favorites include DJing a Bar/Bat Mitzvah for 15k, becoming a vegan for a year for 40k, and joining the US Army for $1,000,000.

Here’s where you come in. I’m pretty sure a lot of us don’t have $40,000 just lying around (unless the Rich Kids of Instagram want to throw down); so if we want one of these things to happen, we’re going to need to work together. I’ve started an online fundraising campaign HERE so that we can do it. In two months we’ll count up how much we have, and buy the best one we can. At the very least, we’ll have him tweet a randomly selected FNT follower. The person who donates most will win a special FNT prize. Let’s go one deeper and get some DJ Awareness going!

Don’t forget to follow Dillon on his different social media outlets – you won’t be disappointed.
