Deep House, Mashups | DOSVEC – Open Your Bullit

Open Your Bullit

Deep House has taken the music world by storm, and what better way to make it pour than by mashing up established acts like Axwell and Dirty South with Dutch Deep House up and comer Watermat to create something sure to take you places you’ve never been?

DOSVEC, who is on his way to earning the moniker of Mashter (Mashup Master get it? Huh? Huh? No? Okay….) has proven many times over that two distinctly different sounds can come together and create something so natural that it’s almost as if it were the original mix. ‘Open Your Bullit’ takes the entrancing vocals of Rudy and combines it with the very Dutch production that is Bullit and what comes out is a mellow collaboration that never happened, but sounds like it did.

The vocals blend very well with the pace of the song, they don’t sound forced or out of place, which is difficult to nail, but DOSVEC is no amateur and he puts his expertise on display with yet another mash that would fit beautifully in any House set. He just took it one deeper.

Electronic | Dirty South – With You + Tunnel Vision

Posted by on September 14, 2014

dirty south with you

With his album coming out on November 4th, Dirty South has previewed two more tunes from the album, in addition to “Unbreakable” last month. There aren’t any drops on these tracks, especially “With You” that has more of an orchestral sound to it, with a slow, progressing arrangement as soft male vocals compliment the strings and steady chords. “Tunnel Vision” is much darker than what we have heard from Dirty South in many years with brooding, rolling synth chords and the haunting vocals of SomeKindaWonderful.

Both tunes feature bands on the ATM band roster, which Dirty South is a part of with his duo Ruben Haze, so it is no surprise to see them on these tracks and also nice to see him turn to bands for features. It is just another step in the new direction of Dirty South’s music. You can get “Tunnel Vision” now if you are in the US, so head to iTunes to grab it.

Progressive House | Dirty South – Unbreakable

Dirty South - Unbreakable

Though he just released an album in March of last year “Speed Of Life“, Dirty South is already prepping another full-length LP for release this fall “With You”. He has unveiled the lead single for the album “Unbreakable”, which shows the new direction of the LA based producer / DJ. A bit different from the Dirty South we are used to with his big storming melodies, the Serbian born producer leans more on instrumentation and vocals from Sam Martin to create an actual song in “Unbreakable”. The album is set for release November 4th, so mark your calendars and pre-order it now on iTunes here.

Albums, Exclusive, Featured, Progressive House | FNT Premiere: Sgt Slick – Everyday (Dave Winnel Vicious21 Remix) From Vicious 21

21 years of vicious

Vicious Recordings is turning 21 this year and celebrate this momentous occasion, they have compiled 21 classics and 21 new remixes of songs that represent the storied history of the label. In a genre that has only been around for about 35 years, it is all to often we see labels, clubs and other institutions fade into obscurity after a short run on top. To remain one of the great labels, riding the highs and lows of the industry and remaining a consistent force at discovering new talent and promoting great music throughout the years. Based in Australia, just a few of the guys the label has helped break include Avicii, Dirty South, Peking Duk, Angger Dimas and many more.

With the compilation coming out tomorrow on Beatport, we are proud to premiere the Dave Winnel remix of Sgt Slick “Everyday”. Those of you who are fans of Kaskade’s compilation albums (raises hand), will recognize the piano-heavy remix by Digital Lab from Dance.Love, but now hometown kid, Dave Winnel takes over the reigns for a remix fit for 2014. The stunning vocal is left intact as Dave Winnel adds a bouncy bass line underneath a bed of synths that are a mix of a throwback to when this tune was originally released and to the sounds of today. Stream the tune below before it comes out tomorrow. Check out the teaser for the compilation below and see the full tracklist after the jump.

DJ-Set, Exclusive, Progressive House | EDX – No Xcuses 144 (FNT Exclusive)

Posted by on December 3, 2013

artworks-000058108783-t3xmkj-t500x500The flag bearer for Swiss house, EDX has become synonymous with a soothing, progressive sound that is such a refresher when songs are simply louder and louder these days. He has had a very good year, garnering remixes for the likes of Calvin Harris and Avicii, while adding several strong originals and collaborations to his already stellar back catalog.

His weekly radio show, “No Xcuses” provides an outlet for his own original releases, while also supporting his favorite tunes from others at the moment. This episode has a strong Swiss flavor, drawing not only on his own tracks, but others from Nora en Pure, Leventina, and Dave202. He matches that with the best house tracks of the moment from the likes of Hardwell, Dirty South and Sick Individuals.

Generally in the radio shows of big name DJs there are a few unreleased tracks, but it is rare to see the percentage in this mix. You will find not just one, two or even three world premiers, there are 4, yes 4 WORLD PREMIERS in this radio show. So buckle up and get ready to hear some brand new music from EDX and his friends. Tracklist after the jump.
