House | Money Money – “Spend It”

Posted by on September 16, 2020

Purveyors of promiscuously energetic sound, Money Money burst onto the scene with their debut single “Spend It.” The NYC-born-and-raised duo take Fergie’s iconic lyrics from The Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps” and craft it into their own whirlwind of a track. Featuring pulsating basslines and hot 808s, “Spend It” is quite the powerful way to step onto the worldwide scene.

You’re going to want to turn your speakers up way loud for this one.

There’s no better way for us to introduce ourselves than with the pulsating baseline in ‘Spend It.’ We channeled our love for the raw energy of house music into this track, and we are thrilled for this release that represents the beginning of this new musical journey.” – Money Money

Listen to “Can It Be Me” above now and read a quote from her on the song below! “‘Can It Be Me’ marked a shift in that mindset and unlocked a feeling of hope and desire to go further with my music. It’s about realising that when you’re hungry for more and really do it just for pure enjoyment and happiness, that’s when you start moving forward.”

Bass | Draeden Makes His Original Debut With Conquest EP

Posted by on July 15, 2019

The Montreal producer Draeden has made his original debut with the four part Conquest EP. Released on Kannibalen Records, this project technically sees Draeden return to the imprint after an official remix for Sullivan King that was his first official release. The remix was incredible, but in seeing Draeden work with completely original material and bringing to life a concept EP like Conquest is magnificent. Draeden’s multi-genre approach blending classical with bass for a truly cinematic sound is something special that I hope to hear more of very soon! For now, I’ll be enjoying Conquest to the fullest.

Indie | Jack O’Brien Debuts With Indie EP Boo Hoo

Posted by on June 13, 2018

Berklee School of Music is a breeding ground for young talent. It’s hard to keep tabs on everyone who comes out of there, but the NorCal raised Jack O’Brien of is a name you’ll need to know. The recent graduate made his way back across the US, but ended up settling in Seattle and created his debut project, Boo Hoo. The release is made up of five singer/songwriter tracks that keep a simple, chill tone. The minimal style works because of Jack’s immense talents that we hope to see more of as time passes.

LA-based PHIL GOOD is certainly making a splash with his very first song, “Sleeping In.” As someone who’s been compared to names like Miike Snow and Glass Animals, one could imagine that he has something special, and he’s proving that point on his debut. For this song, PHIL GOOD teamed up with Trevor Dahl from Cheat Codes to blend his own style with Trevor’s, making for a fun, bouncy track that features a foundation of catchy percussion to support the synth melodies, bass stabs, and of course, the PHIL GOOD vocals.

Hip-Hop, Trap | HIP-HOP | LEELEE HAXI DELIVERS THE FIRST SINGLE OFF HER DEBUT PROJECT

Posted by on August 17, 2016

LeeLee Haxi (formerly ‘Leah Haxhi’) has been dropping loose singles for the past couple of months and is finally blessing us with a full project next month. ‘Pull Up’ is the first release off of the debut, entitled ‘Until Then’, and its chill, late night riding vibes makes it a perfect summer track. Infusing hip-hop, trap and even elements of grunge, ‘Pull Up’ is a great illustration of how amorphous, unpredictable but at the same time comforting LeeLee’s sound can be. If this melodious trap experimentation is indicative of the sound on ‘Until Then’, the project is going to be a must listen. Be sure to listen/share ‘Pull Up’ and to follow LeeLee on her socials @LeeLeeHaxi to stay up to date with more singles and videos off the debut.
