After getting a preview of “Overseas” with their drop of “Just Another Day” I was excited to see what this team was going to come up with on the full project. Well it turned out their timing couldn’t have been any better…this mixtape is the perfect compliment to a summer 4th of July pool party. Raising the bar after the release of SHM’s “One” seemed nearly impossible – from the innovative sounds to the gripping visuals, the trio seemed to have done everything perfectly with that project. Yet, much to my surprise the guys came back with yet another dance-floor killer that once again tested some new waters with a sick beat and vocals. A few remixes have surfaced but the one below is one of my favorites largely because it recharges the song with new sounds that compliment the heavier bassline. I’m not normally into heavy tracks – this one seems to push my threshold slightly. (The mashup doesn’t really count as a remix but I figured I’d throw it in here for good measure).

Here’s Just Blaze’s follow up to his chart topping hit “No Love” which boasted the powerful Em and Wayne duo. I don’t like to be a hater but I’ve got to say the auto-tuned hook doesn’t compliment Shady’s hard verses. (Note: Its also rumored that this was some unused material from Em’s “The Recovery”)

Although this isn’t as catch as Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg’s “California Gurl”, Kanye West does a venerable job of trying to live up to the previous hit by laying down some impressive bars. Hopefully Katy will continue to seek out big rappers to compliment her pop voice; its a great formula for success if you ask me.

I’m sorry to keep teasing everyone but as promised, here’s the snippet of Kinetic & One Love’s new song titled “Sign Language” featuring Wynter Gordon. The two compliment one another quite well so I really hope their success translates into more collaborations. If you haven’t already done so, join their facebook fan page because once they hit 5 thousand members they will drop the full version. I’ve also throw in two tracks from the duo’s 2008 EP and although the production isn’t as crisp and perfect as the tracks from Fading Back to Normal, they’re still dope.
