I’ve had The Weeknd’s just-dropped mixtape on repeat for the past several days. Brave yourself. Every track off “House of Balloons” is unbelievably sexy. The duo, who reign from Toronto, have generated quite the buzz. Their irresistible tracks even caught Drake’s attention–who then posted their mixtape on his OVO blog.

This is a little sneak peak of Afrojack & R3hab’s latest project…although the track is still a work in progress, it’s already got me on my feet ready to party. I can promise you three things…one, the title “Prutata” is just a studio title and they will change that, two, this song will be a chart topper, and three, this will be one of those songs that you play so loud girls clothes fly off…

I absolutely love this EP – it’s a much needed change of pace for my iTunes library. No surprises here, this self proclaimed stoner/feel good music project definitely lives up to its album stamp and banana beat record production, but what would you expect from two California natives whose careers are adorned with some classic laid-back hits? Here’s what the official website reports:
“The W’s is taking it back to our first record, with all the tools and the knowledge of the future mixed with better weed and hotter women,” said rapper Shwayze.
The new music marks a return to the California stoner hop that made their first album SHWAYZE (#8 debut on Billboard Top 200) strike a generational chord. The laid back beats and sing-a-long melodies provided by producer/singer Cisco Adler are the perfect backdrop for Shwayze’s lazy day flow.

It’s about time I feature these two teenage rappers from Philly on FNT. Every few days or so I find myself revisiting old videos and scouring Youtube for new material and yet, I’ve never given them a post. The beat and verses in the youtube video above are dope. OCD is an up and coming rap duo straight out of Philadelphia, PA. Their unique progressive hip hop sound has been receiving plenty of attention recently on the East Coast. This is another huge ground breaking track. As I’ve previously written several times before, 2011 is going to be the year electro and hip-hop combine and completely change music as we know it. From electro influenced beats such as “Only Girl (In The World)” By Rihanna to Britney Spears new international banger “Hold it Against Me,” which even featured a dubstep sequence, to “Look At Me Now” by Chris Brown, which was produced by two of the biggest names in the electro world (Afrojack & Diplo)…electro is taking over. David Guetta penetrated the hip hop scene with three club bangers featuring some big names (Akon, Kid Cudi, & Kelly Rowland) that not only topped charts but also planted seeds in every managers head. Whether you hate it or not, it’s the future of music. Bottom line, there is no better music to party to than electro/house and that’s what it comes down to.

It’s New Years Eve, I just watched Nero, Afrojack, and Dada Life, and then theres Rusko announcing he’s dropping his latest single live for the first time ever 50 feet in front of me. As Rusko becomes a more notorious name (due to the building hype of dubstep in the U.S. and his collaborations with Britney Spears on her latest album) this track could change everything. I could honestly see this song being played on the radio in Los Angeles in the next few months after Britney’s album gives 70% of America their first taste of dubstep. Here’s why…
1. It’s an original mix
2. It’s not that UK grimey sounding style of dubstep most of you can’t stand…it’s clean
3. Female vocals
4. Rusko will be one of the hottest topics of conversation in the American music industry after Britney’s groundbreaking album is released. People will want more.
Let’s see if Rusko’s “Everyday” can be the gateway drug for America and dubstep.
