Progressive House | Wynter Gordon – Still Getting Younger (Remixes)

Posted by on May 14, 2012

Wynter Gordon has been on fire recently, absolutely smashing the lyrics to Tommy Trash and Steve Aoki’s “Ladi Dadi” and Laidback Luke’s recent hit “Speak Up”. This release, Still Getting Younger, features some great remixes from Steve Angello sponsored Third Party, eSquire (who has been wrecking the Progressive House scene), and Belocca. The Third Party remix brings out their unique sound (massive building synth work and perfect festival music). My personal favorite is the eSquire remix, who utilizes the perfect mix of melodies to create that house beat which gives you goosebumps. The Belocca remix is a great house take on the original. Grab the full release on BEATPORT. The Beatport version also features Dub remixes from Third Party and Belocca.

Electro-House | Afrojack – Fatility

Posted by on March 13, 2012

Afrojack back at it again with yet another big release this week entitled Fatility. Still keeping the standards high after his previous release with Shermanology, this track brings in that same Dirty Dutch style we were so used to hearing from him in his early days. We saw little glimpses of this banger on live stream a few weeks ago and since then the fans have been dying for its release. Through the buildup we can progressively hear those signature Afrojack sounds we are so accustomed to hearing, while slowly building up to that sexy, high pitched dirty dutch drop. Ill leave you guys with some words from the wise, “If it ain’t Dutch it ain’t much.” -Middy.

Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Moombahton, Review | Emalkay – Flesh & Bone (Remixes)

Posted by on February 28, 2012

I wanted to take a day after this released to listen a bit more to these remixes. Emalkay are amazing, but this package contained some lesser names and I really wanted to be sure about posting them. Turns out I am in love with every remix on this, and picking one favorite is very difficult to do. The original track is cool reggae vibed drum & bass, a feel I have really been getting into as of late. The first remix on this happened to end up being my favorite, The Others kept the parts I loved about the original and added a sweet dubstep drop. When it came to picking my favorite out the 3 remixes, Delta Heavy’s remix was almost tied with The Others. Delta Heavy went with a drumstep remix, and really took off with the drum beat which sounds incredible. Beatport confused me, they have the entire remix EP labeled as dubstep, but clearly Dismantel went with a sexy moombahton remix that I don’t think anyone would mind hearing on the dance floor. All in all I really enjoyed listening to these remixes.

DO SOMETHING

Progressive House | Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman – Roll The Dice

Posted by on February 21, 2012

Finally Beatport got their shit together and put this song up close to a day and a half after its scheduled release. You probably already have their massive progressive remix of Coldplay’s “Scientist” as well as their plethora of other great uplifting remixes and thus should be eager to get their single “Roll The Dice”. This song is great from start to finish with easy piano and guitar melodies in the builds and
a pounding bass line and pulsing synth with an accompanying rising synth that crescendos in the break.

Progressive House | Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike & Regi – Momentum (Original Mix)

Posted by on February 15, 2012

We first got a glimpse of Momentum when it premiered at Tomorrowland last year, that just so happens to take place in the homeland of both Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike in Belguim. They, alongside friend and fellow producer Regi have produced a calmly driven, simplistic record full of synths and chords made of bright and cheery noise. The brothers are renown for their usual hard stuff which may give this record mixed opinions, but one thing is for certain – Momentum shines light on their versatility as producers, and let’s our imaginations run rampid as to what may come next of them. No doubt, these brothers know how to party and inherently reflect that in the quality of their production.

Dubstep | 501 Headrush ft. Belle Humble / Falling Skies

Posted by on February 14, 2012

501’s long awaited two track EP “Headrush ft. Belle Humble / Falling Skies” released yesterday on beatport, and they are some of the highest quality dubstep tracks. We put up the radio edit to Headrush last week, as it was given away on UKF, but it was too short and unfulfilling. With the full track out now, you can enjoy this outstanding track and all of its glory. The second track, Falling Skies,  is something new and refreshing to hear from this not so highly known producer. Both of these releases are what I like to call, tasteful dubstep because they aren’t too heavy on the bass and synths, but at the same don’t disappoint you either. I know 501 put a lot of work and time into both of these tracks because they have been in the making for a while now and it can be heard throughout the track. From the wide variety of sounds, to the superb buildups and progressions these tracks are a must have.

Moombahton | Moombah Mondays

Posted by on February 13, 2012

We previewed Diamond Swagga a while back when we had D!RTY AUD!O as a featured artist, but hearing the full track just makes me realize how nasty this track actually is.If you are a Moombah fan, and haven’t heard of D!RTY AUD!O you are missing out in the Moombah world. He is an underrated producer out of LA who has been dropping Moombahton fire as of late. If you think im kidding, check out his latest preview below and tell me you disagree.

Sazon Booya and : Dface, who we have featured many time on Moombah Mondays, have a new single hitting beatport tomorrow that you don’t want to miss. This is definitely going to have the crowds dancing.

No introduction needed for this next artist. Dillon Francis’s EP drops tomorrow, be sure to grab it so you can jam out to this collab with Kill The Noise. Top quality Moombah.

DJ Bent out of CT dropping some more Moombahton fire today. Going for a more funky dance rhythm on this remix, but keeping the synths and horns present to keep those a**es shaking.

A little exclusive track for FNT from La’REDA. We featured their remix of rattle last week on Moombah Mondays and if you like what you heard, be sure to vote for them in the contest HERE. This track has everything you need for a Moombah track, laser synths, grunges, bass, and heavy lead. Be sure to grab this track from the Soundcloud link below.
