Alternative | Fiery Indie-Pop Artist Sophie Kilburn Shares Debut EP ‘My Room Made Public’

Posted by on September 12, 2021

Sophie’s new My Room Made Public, is a four-track EP with an indie-pop inspired style fused with a classic 70s flare throughout. It is a bold sonic fusion of old school rocker & modern pop warrior that sits neatly alongside ALT Pop heroes like Haim, Phoebe Bridgers and Soccer Mummy that have successfully contributed to a new genre that fits in both the past and the present, with a heavy emphasis on storytelling. Check out a thorough quote on the project after the jump and stream Sophie’s new EP above now.

“The concept of the EP started from my growing hunger turned obsession with wanting to be heard. What do I have to do to be really listened to, to be taken seriously as an artist, as a woman, as a person? How much do I have to share to feel like I’m enough? I spiraled, thinking ‘it’s just not in the cards for me’. The noise in my head got so loud that it really started to well… piss me off. I became acutely aware of how strong the pressure of sharing everything with everyone all the time is. There is this fear that if you don’t share it all your identity is no longer validated or worthwhile and that can be very dangerous. I don’t want to keep feeling that and I don’t want anyone else feeling that either. The project took on a whole new meaning when the pandemic hit and we were all forced to reflect on ourselves and the world we live in, it made me think well it is more relatable now than ever.  With My Room Made Public, I wanted to create a body of work that is an emotionally open and honest introduction to me as an artist and the songs I write. It is chapter one of what I  hope will become a classic trilogy. At the end of the day, I just want to bring emotional comfort and make people want to fight for what they want out of life, find themselves in their own way and to never settle for something that hurts them. I guess I am trying to do that for myself too  but there is always strength in numbers.”

RnB | Dear Jane’s New “Dear Jane” Single & EP Is A Must Listen

Posted by on January 17, 2017

When No Requests sends us music, we listen. It’s rare that we hear an artist that immediately grabs our attention. Dear Jane (also known as Tammy Infusino) accomplished that, and then some. Her brand new “Dear Jane” EP produced by Nico Cary and Rafael Casal is six tracks of atmospheric, dark, and mysterious RnB that we can’t get enough of. A honest rendition of someone who can’t stop making bad decisions (we’ve all been there) Dear Jane’s “EP” and title track is a refreshingly raw project, exploring failed relationships, heartbreak, and instability. Did we mention you’ll have it on play for weeks to come?

With a tone set for subliminal sadness, LeeLee Haxi goes against the grain with her new trap tinged R&B hip-hop enthused project Until Then. With a unique style, LeeLee creates a sound perfect for kicking back and getting lost in some therapeutic thought. It’s clear she has been keeping an ear to the streets as she has been crafting her sound. Be sure to keep your eyes and ears on her.

LeeLee is not new to Fresh New Tracks, but this is the premiere of the first full mixtape project from the NYC singer/songwriter, featuring a song produced by non other than Monsta Beatz Music. Check out her latest single Pull Up which released this past Thanksgiving on iHipHop’s A3C Vol. 6 Mixtape. She has some more heat dropping soon and is heavily featured on Young Roddy and Trademark da Skydiver’s album, Family Business dropping this friday, and also featured on veteran producers Shelco Garcia and Teenwolf’s upcoming record Sky High on Mixmash Records coming December 12th.

DO SOMETHING

House | Bricks’ “Bounce” Proves His Quality Is Here For The Long Haul

Posted by on November 28, 2016

The thing I like the most about Bricks is in a world filled with every type of house genre you could imagine, he still finds a way to define himself and bring an original experience to his fans. His first 3 releases have merited great support right out of the door. Locking in tens of thousands of plays per track.

Today, Bricks has released “Bounce” a song that taps into the type of sounds of the previous trio, but still delivers on an all-it’s-own feel – my favorite part being that 808 bass that flys up and down at just the right moment. The solo artist has joined this track with his previous to form the Bounce EP. Bricks has it together and will surely continue to grow.

Dubstep | Hairitage’s “They’re Overthrown” Revive’s A Classic Dubstep Feel

Posted by on October 29, 2016

Hairitage is a man of many faces, but one thing is for certain. The dude knows how to slay the game when it comes to quality bass. His latest original “They’re Overthrown,” which was picked up by Trapstyle (a channel with 111K following), combines a handful of classic dubstep elements with a modern feel like few others can capture. “They’re Overthrown” features mid-20th century movie audio clips, a cinematic/melodic feel to the drop, and contains serious substance in the intro, bridge and ending.

A quick look at Hairitage’s SoundCloud shows the guy has been in the game for quite some time, releasing a handful and originals on his own. “They’re Overthrown” showcases the solo artist is pushing the limits and trying to take his game next level, expanding the variety of sounds he produces.

Electronic, Pop | “Sunsets” by Nick Pes is a beauty

Nick Pes just dropped his latest single “Sunsets”, and it is beautiful. The Sydney based artist created a gorgeous synth-pop track that takes inspiration from natures daily ritual — the sunset — and the painful breakdown of a relationship. Nick actually describes it perfectly, saying that “The thing about a sunset is that one happens every single day, some more amazing than then next but daily nonetheless – but if you allow yourself to experience it can feel like the most beautiful and important moment in the world. There’s a sadness because it’s an ending but it also marks a beginning. You can’t stop it from happening so you just have to go with it.” This track is definitely worth checking out, and we can’t wait to hear what Nick Pes has to offer next.
