Imagine Jason Aldean had the ability to insert a Sean Kingston hook and then drop a verse mid song – essentially, that’s what Cal and Rez just did with his latest hit, “Burnin’ It Down”. For those of you still resistant to country music, ride this segway and give it a shot.
Holy shit, I can’t believe I just endorsed country music. Past Grubeats would kick me ass right now.

It’s not a party unless you sing along to a little Journey. With that being said, sometimes Journey doesn’t tickle your dancing fancy and you just want to turn up. I’m not going to lie, the original by Meghan Trainor freaked me out a little. Nicki Minaj and Adele had a child and she grew up to be Meghan Trainor. Don’t get me wrong, the girl has talent, but all the pink, the children’s doll houses, and the Israel Kamakawiwo?ole look alike doing a split turned me off. With that being said, Cal and Rez have brought this back for me in this weeks installment of TFT. Take away all the things I mentioned, and beef up the production, you’ve got a hit.

After months of teasers, singles, videos, sold out shows, & of course Timeflies Tuesday’s, Cal and Rez come together to deliver their latest full-length LP, After Hours. With an independent spirit still instilled in their minds, the Tufts born duo kept the majority of the project organic, leaving the vocals up to Cal and the production on Rez’s plate. Having said that, Cal did lend the mic to hip-hop’s honorary MC, Fabolous, for a verse on “Fall” as well as the king of auto tune, T-Pain, on “Somebody Gon Get It”. Private university kids putting out big time records!
Music game Jelly Belly’s – the album contains flavors from a variety of genres. Pop, hip-hop, electro, country, folk, and just about anything else you can think of. Their sound is unique, smooth, and on pace with any other mainstream artist/group in the game. In the scope of life, time certainly does fly, but when you’re waiting on an album like this, it almost feels like the clock is stopped.
