Electro-House | Keane – Sovereign Light Café (Afrojack Remix)

Posted by on December 24, 2012

With Alesso remixing Keane’s very successful single “Silenced By The Night” to rave reviews, it was only a matter of time before another big name producer got their hands on a Keane track and made it their own. Afrojack slowly builds with a slow easy piano and the outstanding vocals from lead singer Tom Chaplin and then adds a blistering drop of pitched synths and a fast moving bass line. On the heals of his chart topping single “Annie’s Theme” and his upcoming remix for one billion youtube views “Gangnam Style”, as well as hosting a huge Jacked event on Pier 94 to ring in the New Year, Afrojack is continuing to assert his worldwide dominance on dance music.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman ft. Jonny Rose – Pieces of Light (Remixes)

Posted by on December 22, 2012

Pushing back the release of this remix package a few days due to the release of their remix of Miike Snow “Bavarian #1 (Say You Will)“, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman present the remixes of their 3rd single this year “Pieces Of Light” featuring LA native Jonny Rose on the vocals. Dutch duo, Sick Individuals start things off with most heavily supported remix of bunch, pitching up the build, allowing Jonny Rose’s vocals to shine and flipping the drop into heavy electro house. Denzal Park slowly build you into a thunderous drop, layering a decisive low-end and progressive synth chords. Henrix goes back to what has been his calling card since the name change, high energy, frenetic bass lines and variety of percussions that dominate the drop.

DO SOMETHING

Electro-House | Dzeko & Torres – Hey EP

Posted by on December 18, 2012

Toronto duo, Dzeko & Torres make their Dim Mak debut with a three track EP comprised of two new records, “Hey” and “Check This Out”, as well as the previously released for free download “Buppy”. “Hey”, highlights the tougher side of their sound, using a prolonged riser and grungy low end. “Buppy”, the free download, continues along the vein of harder electro tracks that this EP brings to the table as a standout Dim Mak release with its punchy bass line and grinding synths. “Check This Out” brings together a distorted bass line with high pitched synths and what would a track be without an air horn? Interview to come later this week with the guys, you will want to stick around for this one.

Electro-House | Tom Staar – Kingdom

Posted by on December 17, 2012

Tom Staar has made himself one of the hottest commodities in dance music with unique tracks like his remix of “African Drop“, that still remains a favorite of many, and his recent release with Wolfgang Garter, “Evil Lurks“. Tom Staar’s debut on Laidback Luke led Mixmash Records provides another unique dance record with a soothing build led by calming female vocals that ushers in a drop of blistering, distorted synths and a stiff bass line.

Electro-House | R3hab & ZROQ – Skydrop

Posted by on December 17, 2012

R3hab, a name who has been very hit or miss for me this year with the amount of tracks he has put out this year, at points even 4 times in a week. He has so many productions that it is hard to keep up with any one of them and they all seem to blend together. R3hab tabs fellow dutchman ZROQ, who first got his claim to fame for being the man behind “WTF!?” with Nicky Romero, to bring us the final release of the year on Tiesto’s Musical Freedom. “Skydrop” brings together the styles of both of the producers, utilizing the saws that R3hab has become so well known for and the tough electro sound from ZROQ as this song expects to make its way into plenty of festival sets this winter.

Electro-House, Featured, Preview | Roksonix – Music In Me (Doctor P Remix) [PREMIERE]

Posted by on December 14, 2012

Looks like we have quite the treat for everyone today. Circus Records has been kind enough to let us premiere Doctor Ps upcoming remix from the highly anticipated compilation EP, “The Shady Bunch,” featuring legends Funtcase, Cookie Monsta’, Roksonix, Flux Pavilion, and many more. Since the release of Roksonix’s impacting remix of Nero’s “Me & You,” and its feature on X-Factor’s Season 2 promotions, it felt like only a matter of time before some great producer was chosen to remix something of their’s. Could not have asked for a better person for the job.

Doctor P has always surprised me with his new work, especially with the stringed orchestral intro contained in this remix. Shocked and awed, I continued listening through this intriguing track only to find myself dancing to a most memorable electro-house twist of Roksonix and Doctor P’s styles. If I wasn’t extremely excited for the EP’s release already, I most definitely am now. Luckily we will not have to wait much longer for its December 16th release this coming Sunday. Until then, enjoy this first listen of this awesome tune.
