Electro-House | Fedde le Grand – Rockin’ N’ Rollin’

Fedde le Grand - Rockin N Rollin

Fedde le Grand takes his time between releases, notably originals, and it pays off in the quality that pervades his discography. Coming off of his late 2012 single “RAW”, and one of the Ultra anthems with Sultan & Ned Shepard “Long Way From Home“, Fedde le Grand has been slowly gearing up for an album hopefully releasing later this year and this latest single is his latest effort to hold us off until then. Premiered as this jump off track for his weekend one mainstage set, “Rockin N Rollin” sets itself apart with its chugging low end, thumping bass, robotic vocals and a fast paced synth laden interlude. It is always great to see a new track from Fedde le Grand and this one is just another quality one from the high flying Dutchman.

Electro-House | Justice – Phantom Pt. II (Kastra Remix)

Posted by on April 24, 2013

Justice - Phantom Pt. II (Kastra Remix)Kastra has been releasing nothing but fire over the past few months. Not too many producers take on the challenge of remixing Justice, and there are few that have succeeded in doing so. Kastra not only succeeded but he made this one of the funkiest bangers I have heard. As W8 said to me as I wrote this, “the drop sounds like it’s talking to me.” Not sure what it was telling him, but it tells me it’s time to bust out on the dance floor.

Electro-House, Videos | Tommy Trash – Monkey See Monkey Do (Tommy Trash Re-Edit) [Music Video]

Posted by on April 19, 2013

Tommy Trash Electric-ZooTommy Trash has cooled off a little to start 2013 in terms of releases after the torrent of remixes and originals that we saw in 2012, cementing himself as one of the fastest rising names in dance music. This may be for the best, since it gives people a chance to fully digest his sound and then get ready for the next wave of Tommy Trash releases that includes “Monkey In Love” on Steve Angello’s Size Records and the vocal mix of “Reload”, set to release May 14th.

The video for his grungy re-edit of “Monkey See Monkey Do”, follows a stuffed monkey crushing the dance floor at Liv in Miami and then on his outer-space adventures in a makeshift UFO as he listens to “Monkey See Monkey Do”. Is the monkey a reference to how everyone gets trashed to Tommy Trash music? I don’t know, but this guy is soaring. Grab the original plus the remixes below on Beatport.

Electro-House | Bingo Players – Out Of My Mind (Dada Life Remix)

Posted by on April 1, 2013

The Bingo Players are a noted quality over quantity producer duo who relentlessly crank out some of the biggest tracks each year without fail. “Out Of My Mind” was no different with their signature synth that found its way into the sets of many far and wide, including many at this past UMF. They gave the remix duties to the grounded chieftains of Dada Land, who take their sausage fattener and turn it up a notch on the hit single from the Bingo Players. Dada Life do not mess with the winning formula from the dutchmen, rather only accentuate its strengths, letting the melody shine, while adding their own powerful low end in the style of the original that makes it patently Dada Life, but also leaves the Bingo Player’s imprint known as well.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Hardwell ft Amba Shepherd – Apollo (Remixes)

Hardwell’s huge end of the year single with hot in demand vocalist Amba Shepherd “Apollo” gets its much deserved remix package from a combination of new names and old hats, crossing genres to provide a varied remix package for the chart topping single. Dash Berlin’s popular 4am mix seems much more upbeat than the misleading “4am” remix title with a minimal, electro breakdown and a tranced out build, letting Amba Shepherd’s vocals shine. Lucky Date takes the track and plays off of the original melody, while adding his own glitchy pitched lead that brings the track together and may make this one the stand out of the entire package. Noisecontrollers brings together heavy electro and a dab of dubstep with a booming hardstyle kick. Psychic Type took over “The Code” to some success and do that again here with “Apollo”. While the remix may satisfy some trapoholics, it lacks the ingenuity and power of the other three.

Electro-House | Nicky Romero – Symphonica

At long last Nicky Romero’s single “Symphonica”, first played at last year’s Tomorrowland, gets its official release and sets itself up to be an early summer anthem. Nicky is still riding the high of his collab with Avicii “I Could Be The One“, as well as his house smash “Still The Same Man” and with Protocol Records tracks getting plays from Djs all across the spectrum, he is making his push to manage the collasal task of having an even bigger year in 2013 than last year. “Symphonica” embodies the hard hitting sound you come to expect from Nicky with foreboding piano, rough, jarring, almost sand paper like saws and orchestral strings, bringing together this outstanding arrangement from the young Dutchman. No word on the trap remix from Bare that Romero gave a whirl during his mainstage set last weekend at Ultra, but it is one to look out for.
